Here it is all wired up. Not a whole lot of space to run wires, but turned out OK. Flew it again today...what a heli..whisper quiet and handles great. I just applied the "Voodoo 400" stickers I had made and need to trim up around the naca duct.

Awesome laser! You beat me to it - can't afford this bird yet
Yes, please keep us posted - it's hard to find any snippets of info on this heli. Which main blades will you use?

Yes, I did paint the canopy. Nothing special, just black with a clear coat. I'm still working on the vinyl details, but I have some green chrome vinyl I'm working with. Looks really good against black.

The build is a real treat...take your time and enjoy.

The kit arrived last week on initial inspection it is all very good quality and very well thought out, I am going to enjoy building this one !
I ordered the blades with the kit , they are made by HeliTec for Stefan http://www.helitec-magic.com/helitec-spezial/index.html
They are very well made and balanced perfectly from the packet.
UPS man still has power set and satalites for V_bar .
I hope to start the build this week work allowing .
I also have a set of these decals on the way http://www.haubendesign.de/Foliendek...-400::653.html

Nice one laser, that explains the HT blades I saw in a pic somewhere.

Those are cool...I wish I could find the decals seen in the following link.http://www.eheli-tuning.de/?site=voodoo400

Can't seem to find those anywhere. Stefan has a video on youtube applying those decals. I would presume they're available, but not listed as a "part" in the parts listing. Canopy yes, decals no.

Default Ball distance

Hey guys, base on you experience so far with the Voodoo 400, if you had to choose between a ball distance on the servo horns of 12mm or 14mm, which would be best? I know the manual calls for 13mm on all servos but I'd like to use the SeCraft arms I have which give me 12 or 14. I'd go with 12mm on the Tail servo - that's a no brainer, but cyclics could go either way?
Is there much clearance between the horns and the canopy?
If it matters, the fbl is an AR7200BX, and the cyclics are 9660a+. Thanks.

Really depends on your FBL unit, and I'm not familiar with Beastx. I fly with the recommended 13mm ball distance though the mechanical throw was a bit low for the SK540. Not low enough to cause any issues, but not the "optimum" throw either. 14mm would probably be perfect, but I haven't looked into changing my horns. I've got it flying well and don't want to start over by changing horns. Though I have been thinking of putting a BD3sx on this machine. If I do that then I will source some 14mm horns.

I don't think the horns will bind on the canopy.

Thanks Chad. I can get 13.5mm on the plastic horns that came with the servos, but it sounds like 14mm on the Secraft ones will have a good chance of being ok.

I'll try these on my V400. They're 13mm... I switch completely from VBar Silverline 5.3 Pro to the new AC-3X V3. So perfect time to install some new servohorns.

Ahhh btw.

I think the 14mm Secraft_Horns are too long. 14mm might be okay, but horn has two positions... 14mm and 17mm. So the whole horn is about 18mm long. There is not that much space between the horn and the canopy if you look inside the heli from above.

I think the complete horn shouldn't be longer than 15-16mm.

I've got one of these on the way. What is the battery pack recommendation on these. What I mean is, From 3600 to 4400mah? Don't want to make it to heavy. Jim

I'm using Spyder 4s 4000 mAh batteries. http://www.progressiverc.com/spyder-...00mah-30c.html

Very happy with them. I'm sure there are others that'll do the trick, but I'm quite pleased with the Spyders thus far.

Thanks Chad. Still planning all my parts. Probably going to go with mostly the recommended setup. The motor is the one thing I haven't decided on yet as the 400-14 seems to be hard to find in the US. Other motor I'm looking at is the Scorpion 3226-1400. I like the Kontronik governor. Hopefully this will all work nice together with the HC3sx I already have. Might be awhile before I get my bird together but I'll post up when I do.
