Default 3050 rpm, gov

Thanks...its 3050 rpm,set rpm talon 90,with a 13t pinion,12.5 degree pitch. It holds rpm pretty well for a smaller heli. I finally got the tail to do the job with new jr servo n revo 72mm blades. Love the way it flys!!

I just finished my 500L dominator, my first build ever. Here's a video of the first hover, I'll be sure to post some pictures later.

The tail seems to be wagging and there might be some shaking but I don't know if that's just related to the tail wag (or vice versa). This is my first real heli so if anybody notices something or has any input/advice, I would greatly appreciate it.

Trex 500L Dominator first hover (3 min 37 sec)

Edit: I was just using general flight mode but briefly switched into idle up around 0:35. I immediately freaked out since I was in a small backyard and brought it back to general.

Dude go to field. The 500 in a small back yard on the maiden is not a good idea.

Holy crap... Good job on the build BUT PLEASE find a larger field. These animals need room to run

be safe and enjoy.

holy crap dude! Especially on a maiden, when you don't know how the heli is going to respond, or if something is going to break, you need to have some room! Please go to the Safety Forum and look at some of the pictures that guys have posted from when their heli's hit them. Or Google Roman Pirozek Jr. and then you'll understand why.

Everyone, I couldn't agree more about the dangers of flying in a small area. It sounds hypocritical and I know it was a risky decision but I wanted to do a practice hover in my backyard before I go out into a field.

Thank you for all the support!

I hope this still counts as a 500-it is an Atom 500 stretched to a 550 (using 518mm Main Rotor Blades).
FBL unit is a Robird, Dampers and Tail Blades are KBDD, Radio is JR XG14 (DMSS):

That's some nice flying Clem, and I really miss that SoCal backdrop! What size batteries does your stretched Atom use?

Default Trex 500 ESP FBL conversion

Hello, This is my 1 year old Trex 500 ESP. Converted to flybarless in Nov. 2014. Using a RJX Head and Spartan VX1e Vortex. Purchased this kit new on eBay for $390.00 . Only other changes are rc aerodyne fins, hobbywing 100 amp v3 esc and flipped the landing gear around. The gear flip reduced the tendency to sit on it's tail, and it looks better to me . Oh, and fusuno street fighter canopy. This is one smooth fly'n heli

Great build pics YIR78! That looks like a really nice design. I'm going to have to get me some of those frames! What tail servo are you using?
