Default live data field reads 140 for full negative pitch

On the live data panel under 'inputs from the receiver' in the 'pitch' field it reads 130 at full positive pitch and 140 at full negative. reading an earlier post here on this issue i noticed that the pitch lever on the radio has a dead area at top and bottom, in fact it stops moving the swash when the above mentioned field reads 100.
First of all in the control panel i changed the 'travel %' and this seemed to solve the problem, but skookums reply to the earlier post said not to change the travel % in the control panel so i changed it back. I couldnt figure out how to solve this and ended up changing the pitch curve top and bottom figures to around 90 and 15 on my radio. This has completely solved the issue and there are no dead spots and and no changes to the conrol panel travel%. Is this the correct thing to do as i couldnt find anything about this in the manual. this affected my trex 500 and 450.. both helis fly brilliantly now.

Hi SE, good to hear your heli is flying well

You can change the control-input travel field, as long as you're doing it to make the "live inputs" hit 100% at either end of stick motion. What I didn't want people to do was change the travel in order to change how far the swash moves.

Another solution might have been to change the endpoints for your radio's pitch channel. They were probably set to 140% instead of 100%.

No all endpoints at 100, which is better change end points or pitch curve? or does it make no odds?

I had the same problem as you Skint.

I changed the endpoints so all the values were very close to 100%
