Who knows. I'm not really a fan of Castle or YGE, so I'm really hoping to get this sorted. I love the simplicity and robustness of a full Kontronik setup, but it will definitely change my view of their customer service if this goes bad. If they were blanket statement refusing/accepting it would be one thing, but if one gets replaced and one doesn't for some random reason, it is just inconsistent, and a bit unfair if that is the case.

I will reserve judgement until I get a chance to chat with someone from Kontronik... I sent an email to Charles at Kontronik USA with the same info that I supplied to Kontronik Germany. I tried calling the USA service center as well, but it just went to voicemail, which I left my info on.

I'd wager that tomorrow I'll either be drinking to a good email response, or drinking due to a bad email response

Updated my thread with this post.
I think mine is pooched but if this is v13 related issue I expect mine to be covered even though it is 7 months out of warranty.

Not sure you/we will get a response that quickly. K is likely setting up for IRCHA this week.

Edit above. I did get a response from Greg at Kon USA.
He doesn't have an answer as he's more the motor service side but says he has forwarded my message to Charles and Kon factory service center.

Charles is the VP of IRCHA so he may be a little slow responding.

Charles was kind enough to respond to my message just now; he said the Kontronik Germany guys will be at the jamboree tomorrow and he will try to ask them in person.

Bought HeliJive v11 almost two years ago. Upgrade to V13 about 9 month after I got it. It went dead not too long after that. Luckily RH was still in business and I print one from my purchase history. Kontronik honored the warranty replacement. Few weeks ago, it stopped working with 5 blinks.

Bought Kontronik for its quality and reliability. Both the units lasts for about a year. I hope this is not common. But I cannot afford to spent $600 every two years. Hope the Kosmiks I have will last a lot longer than two years.

Sorry for the rant.

Well, this makes me feel 'great' -- I just bought a brand new HeliJive 120+HV v13. Not sure if mine will go 5 blinks and *poof*. It's still new in the packaging.

I can buy almost 2 HV YGE's for the price of 1 HJ 120 HV v13.

Well, it doesn't help with what seems like a fair amount of owners having less confidence in their v13s, but I got good news from Germany. They are honoring my warranty! I'll make sure to hold onto this receipt...

That is good news...
At least they are standing behind their products, and I'm sure they will get this problem figured out.

Just got it today. A big thanks to Charles and the people at Kontronik Germany for helping me through this. Now I need to get more Arctic silver epoxy to stick the heatsink on the new Jive.

So did you get any indication of the fault?
Sending mine to Kon USA tomorrow, wish me luck.

Not really. The invoice simply said something along the lines of "cannot be repaired/ too expensive to service" and it was then listed as a warranty replacement.

Good luck, hopefully everything goes well.
