Cool Logo Xxtreme. My thoughts so far.

It comes as no surprise that the huge size of this monster is the first thing that hits you on first seeing it, Really can't stress how the pictures don't give you the full size of just how big this thing is.

I started the build last night not knowing just how far I would get before I got tired and would have to leave it.

This is by far the easiest helicopter I have ever built, I suppose the sheer size of it makes it easy accessing things in the build leaving me with the airframe fully built in one night.

The engineering in this model is German quality at its best, Every nut.. bolt and part fit like a glove with zero stress getting anything to fit.

I still have the servo's and V-Bar to fit but couldn't wait to fit the canopy and show you people how it looks.

You may be shocked to find the 815mm Edge blades weigh very close to 590gm for the pair, can't wait to auto this beast with those fitted.

The motor can only be described as big as a coke tin.
The herringbone main gear equal to a dinner plate.
The pinion is so big it could be used as a weapon.
The 12mm feathering shaft is the same diameter as a T-Rex 700 main shaft.
The main shaft you could remove lorry tyres with it.
The rotor head is close to looking like a car axle, its very beefy.

I hope you get the picture I am trying to put over regarding it's sheer size.

Anyway enough babbling here are some pictures of the the Xxtreme to look at.

Thanks for those.

Mine is stuck in Australian customs and have been told I should be able to pick it up from my LHS Monday, all going well.

Waited 18 months so a few more days "shouldn't" hurt, much.

After someone suggested the landing gear was small I cant help but think that when I look at it next to another heli. I realize it is fully functional and doesnt effec the heli at all, but looks wise, it does look on the small size compared to everything else.

It kind of reminds me of the T-Rex's short, little arms (referring to the dinosaur, not Align's Trex).

It so needs to be bigger, purely for aesthetics!

At least the pipes say Logo Xxtreme on them

Maybe some old Raptor struts. They are pretty wide and beefy enough.

I think the landing gear is identical to the Logo600. So you may already have your first spare part for the Xxtreme!

Landing gear struts are standard Mikado, but the skid pipes are longer on the XXtreme.

Speaking of "thoughts so far..." if you haven't already, see here:

rc.runryder.com/helicopter/t682323p2/

Kind-of the first "independent" experience with the XXTreme, from the build all the way to the first flight impression.

I noticed on my friends exxtreme that the top and middle main shaft bearing have different colour shields on them. So I was wondering if these are angular contact ball bearings? Didnt think of measuring the races at that time and I guess it would be good that people know they arent just standard bearings if they really are angular contact bearings.

They need minicopter links!

It's not just the top and middle bearings but the bottom one too. Black seal on one side and yellow seal on the other. Obviously installed a certain way for a reason though, whatever that reason is.

Son of a......... What is the L glass on the far right? It looks beastly. Im guess 400mm?? Is photography your profession? Last year I sold all of my gear to get into rc heli .While I dont regret getting into the hobby I do miss my gear. My setup was humble compared to yours. I was sporting the 50D with 70-200 2.8L and the 17-55 USM (not to be confused with the 18-55). Recently I have been considering picking up a 7d and the 24-70 2.8L but its gonna be hard to support both hobbies and a family. choices choices..............
