I bought the hv servo's so I could eliminate another electronic part ( potential failure )
I was reading a thread about the futaba hv servo's and that they're rated for a 2s lipo ( that quickly drops off a bit in voltage ) and aren't 'rated' to be used with 8.4 regulated. This is where the new WR super bec's that have a 8.2 option came into play. http://rcflightstore.com/product_inf...oducts_id=4795 Then on the other hand kyle flew his 700 at 5.6 volts for about 30 flights before they realized it wasn't set to 8 volts. I recall they reduced the voltage for programming a piece. So if kyle can lay down a XFC beating and hardly tell the difference from 8.2 to 5.6 Running a 2s lipo with the skim charge off the top , I have no chance of ever knowing the difference. So for me , I took the less electronics route . Martin

I know that you did not mention this one, so I hope that you do not mind my pointing it out:
http://www.western-robotics.com/herc...BECPRO_hp.html 16 amps constant with a 22 amp peak, and bus architecture so that you can actually deliver all of the available amperage to your servos. I will be installing one myself, shortly.

I'm using the WR Hercules Super Bec G2 and I'm very happy with it...
My servos are JR8717HV and MKS980HV.. I was tired of having another battery to charge and decided to go with the WR bec.. |

There is no need in getting the enormous Jeti BEC, or anything super expensive. Futaba BLS servos are ridiculously efficient. Your constant amperage even in wild 3d flight will only be around 7 or 8 amps with very few peaks that break 12 amps. That is about 2 amps over what I have seen with the set of 157hvs and 256 hv using the log built into the Jeti Mezon 130. I added 2 amps because the Logo is a bigger heavier machine and I don't fly super hard, but hard enough to put some stress on the servos.
