Default sk540 tape

new to the sk540 but with the beast x every 1 seems to use 3m tape to fasten it down,,now got my new 540 today and the 2 squares of white tape that came with it are very thin and quiet similar to 3m tape ,,do people use it or just go with the 3m

Many are using the grey 4011 3M outdoor tape. I am too but still haven't had a chance to maiden mine since installing it.

=] Nic hi, the supplied white tape works really well, I would start on this for your first flights, if you are having any issues at least we know the tape is not it!

Not to hyjack the thread or anything, just to make it clear to me..
Use only the white tape or also the metal plate and if so what did you find works the best?

=] hi, the metal plate is used on the 720, the 540 doesn't need this, so yes, thin white tape only.

General rule of thumb I've learned with the 540, is the harder the better. I use a single layer of gel tape, and it has no free motion at all. The 540 flies better hardmounted, and you can actually notice a difference when it's not. I saw a couple of 540's actually glued onto a frame at ircha.
