SOLD - RC Aerodyne AS350 700 size super scale BNF

I decided to try out a large scale helicopter so I bought this new at the beginning of summer, spent months slowly building it and taking care of all the little issues to get a scale working nicely. Well, I have since lost interest in a scale, I don't think I would fly it that much, I don't want to spend any more money on it for different main blades or whatever, so I want to move on to something else and this is for sale.

Everything was bought new with exception to the motor and ESC which had very little time on them. I have only test hovered this helicopter. It is complete with exception to installing all the exterior scale antenna features and the front windshield. Everything is as described in the RC Aerodyne website. I do not have their electronics on it, I put on the electronics listed below. I flipped around the control arms on the mechanics to make everything 90 degrees to the swash. I added additional bearings on the torque tube for stability. The main blades took a lot of tape to get them balanced. I used KBDD tail blades during all testing and did not install the stock scale tail blades, they are still new in the package.

I went through all of the headache of getting everything in their right place. I am not interested in spending any more time on this finishing it up. There is a very small crack on the canopy above the windshield that was there when it shipped to me (see pictures). I figure that is common stress area due to shipping and I have a fiberglass kit to repair it but did not get to that point yet. There are some scratches on the black frame in the area of the servos where I flipped the control arms around. Roban uses concrete instead of locktite so I had fun time removing screws. I had to take the top plate to a friend who is a machinist to help remove the screws carefully without stripping the holes and the scratches came from the tools used to hold the plate and remove the screws. Just cosmetic and the screws were replaced with better quality ones. All the links were changes over to align links except for the links on the head itself.

Again, all electronics are new with exception to the ESC and Motor having a small amount of time on them before I bought them from a club member. Here is what I have:

Note: if you see tape on the tail fin in the pictures, I just put that there to protect it in case it touched the ground as the rigid wire protector is not installed. It never touched the ground in the testing though. Also, one picture of the servos is before I flipped everything around to help the geometry just so you can see the setup.

I have the original RC Aerodyne box to ship it in. It may be a good idea to ship the fuselage in the RC Aerodyne box and the heavier mechanics separately. Shipping is going to be nasty as the box is big and the helicopter is heavy.


This kit without electronics goes for $1499.95 on the RC Aerodyne website. They ask another $500 for their electronics package which is lower quality stuff so that puts the retail value of what I am selling at $1,999.00 plus tax. I am asking the following:

Full Bind and Fly kit with all electronics shipped in original RC Aerodyne box $1350.00. OBO

Full kit with NO BeastX but everything else - $1,200 shipped OBO

Helicopter without electronics but with full mechanics and everything else (just No Beast X, ESC, Servos, Motor, BEC) $975 shipped. OBO
