Default CC Esc's + Sk720 : update

Hi All,

There had been an issue of about 2-3% of SK720's not always booting up in combination with Castle Creation ESC's powering them. The user had to first connect the lipo, and then connect the ESC to the throttle channel, after which they would both work properly.

At long last, we collected enough units that both had the start-up issue, and also showed the issue when we tested them here. We also emailed with the CC engineers.

We believe we have it figured out, and by luck we think it was solved almost a year ago. Some Sk720's internal regulators were hiccuping slightly on startup, and this would trick the CC ESC into thinking it was connected to a PC. The hiccups were caused by a small percent of one part being too far from spec. As it happens we changed that part last January. This also makes sense because there don't seem to be many (any?) reports of new units showing the problem this year [and it explains why we couldn't get the 100 or so new units we checked to do it].

To confirm this, it would be helpful if anyone who has the CC startup issue AND has a unit serial number of more than 2800 could email us at info AT skookumrobotics.com

If you have an older unit that has this issue, it can also be resolved by putting a 10k-20k ohm resistor between the signal and ground pins on the ESC's throttle cable. We can mail one to anyone with an older unit that needs it.

It's shown in the upper right corner of the setup software.
