Default Does the MiniP require anti static strapping?

My experience with most of my belted helis is that they required anti static strapping to avoid static build up in the tail section.

Silicon on the belt is an option but I would prefer not to do that unless it is required for belt maintenance anyhow.

Rick, the Mini P has conductive carbon frames and boom blocks, and 'naked' spots on the boom. I've been flying mine forever with no anti-static mods with no issue.

That said, I always soak my belts overnight in silicone RC car shock oil before installation just to make them more pliable. I'm sure that also helps remove static tendencies.

Cool, thanks. Have you ever tried to measure conductivity from the frame to the tail pulley? I'll try that when I get mine. Hopefully someone will chime in if they have had problems.

Honestly I can't remember if I've checked it on the Mini P or not. I know I did on the Logo after installing the anti-static wiring!

I had to do it on my Logo 400 because the VBAR was logging hits.

No trouble with Mini P due to conductive tail boom parts.

No issues here, I lube the bearings (especially the idler pulley bearings) with trinity royal oil before every session, and hit the belt around the main gear with it as well. Use trex 500 grommets on the canopy CA'd on, with a bit of synthetic plastic and rubber safe grease (superlube from ace hardware) on the pins to make it easy to take the canopy off and on. Still on the original canopy after tons of flights and 2 crashes, barely a scratch or crack on it.

Thanks. Sounds like static is not an issue here. I was lulled into a sense of security with the Logo 400 since the Logo 600 came with strapping. I assumed if the 400 needed strapping it would have come with it as well. I was a bit annoyed at Mikado for that one.

Does the oil weight make any difference?

Probably not, but mine is 80 weight.

The miniP will require a ground wire if you use the cheap aftermarket fiberglass frames
