When my original fails I will be going to a Hitec 5084MG.

Would love to know how it performs before I pull the trigger
On paper it's the best of the bunch - best balance of weight vs speed vs torque vs price

I've been using the DS11-GCB in my LA Heli Ricco (same basic size heli) for well over two years, first with a Spartan Quark then with a Microbeast. Nice servo. It's what I'll put on my 300X if the stock servo gives me any issues.

Thanks Chris. Ordered the Hyperion for the tail. I'll test it later in the week and report back.

Hub, your 300x looks hOoked up!
I want that motor too! Are you still running the stock esc? And the built in BEC for that setup?

Wouldn´t want to try those servos with the weak BEC of the stock ESC.
I use a Roxxy BL-Control 940-6 with 5.5 V/ 3A (peak 5 A) |

Wow... that is one bad-ass looking heli!
What are those red servos? Also, is that a voltage meter on the side? If so, where does one acquire such a thing |

You can set the alarm: OFF, 2,7 - 3,7V

You may want to look at the JR DS287MG servos for cyclic control and the JR DS290G servo for the tail. Having a good esc with BEC is critical or use a separate BEC on the speed control. I like to use programable BEC's and set the voltage for 6.0v and usually have had good luck with the Castle Creations esc's. Just be careful to follow the directions for using the independent BEC. Usually it is the red wire from the esc that is disconnected....I use a short 3" servo lead and disconnect the red wire on it rather than on the esc itself, that way I still have full ability to program the esc and the parameters I like to set up for flight with my helicopters....using governor modes and finding the best settings for the motor/esc/battery combinations. I use the Castle Link software on my computer for the programming of the BEC and also the ESC.

Before everybody goes rushing off buying BECs, my telemetry shows that the voltage never drops below 4.7V with stock servos, so it's working really well (for stock servos).
Also, it's obviously better to have your TX beeping to warn for low bat - if you have telemetry that is.

Well I received and fitted the Hyperion DS11-GCB on the tail:
I'm glad to report it works flawlessly. I threw everything at it, fast backwards, tail down funnels, aileron loops. It holds solid in pitch pumps, no drift, no wag and nice hard stops with no bounce. Running at 270Hz even though it can go to 333Hz, with an 8mm ball distance. Lets hope it lasts a little longer than the stock did
