Exclamation New to helicopters, where do all the cables go?!?!

So I was at the model aircraft show near me at the weekend to checkout the planes and cars etc and spotted a helicopter in a swap meet type thing for £25

Figured I should get it as I have always wanted to fly them. Got it home, new batteries and a couple servos replaced with ones I had lying around. ESC was duff too so nicked one off one of my planes.

I cant figure out
1) what model it is
2) what swash plate it has
3) how to wire up the servos

I know its an older helicopter and that it was made/imported/sold by centuryuk[dot]com

The transmitter I have always had. 6 chan but what / which to do.

1. ?
2. ?
3. ESC
4. ?
5. ?
6. ?

That is what I have so far as fact. But one strange thing is that channel 6 also seems to be controlled by the throttle stick?!?!

Here are some pics http://imgur.com/a/xWU3p

Hello and welcome to Helifreak.

1 - Throttle - ESC
2 - Aileron Right side of swash viewed from rear
3 - Elevator Rear of Swash
4 - Rudder wire 3 wire from tail gyro
5 - Gear / Gyro gain = single wire from tail gyro. Make sure when you plug in the gyro wire. On the RX you will see signal signal sign + - . The wire goes on the signal side not on the ground pin.
6 - Pitch . Left side of swash viewed from rear. Yes it's controlled buy the throttle stick via the pitch curve menu.

Looks like CCPM type swash

The good news is that the T6J is a pretty nice radio system. Get the manual out and read it!
Study it and program a few test models so you are bumbling around in the dark when setting up the real thing.
The Helicopter is going to be a tough one to get parts for. Your only going to get 1 crash
out of it.

Hope this helps you get started. Really take your time and make sure everything is
100%, including you. Make sure your wide awake firing on all 8 when you have at it or it's not going to end well.

Hi thanks that makes more sense that what I have been reading.

only thing I would say though is that I fly mode 2 so would switch the throttle back to chan 3?

I will have a read of the links, but what you posed is much help

I should be in a good position to crash it now

Some great advice from Ron. With probably no parts available, even a minor crash will put you out of business, so definitely go slow and spend a bunch of time on the sim.

And if you are really interested in learning helis, best advice I can give you is to pick up one of these before you fly that guy:
http://www.banggood.com/XK-K110-B-Bl...-p-976341.html

The receiver is S-FHSS, so it should bind to your T6J. This little guy is built like a tank and has a bunch of nice features. Once you can hover it tail-in without crashing, you will have a much better chance to survive more than 30 seconds with the bigger heli.

You must mean mode 1. Why would you want to fly with your controls all messed up like that lol.

Make sure you have no tic tic tic in the throttle. If so you need to remove the ratchet strap or you will never hover it.

As I am a fan of learning on micro helicopter, I created these newbie tutorials. Although they are pretty much extinct there is still plenty of great reading for newcomers.

These things are designed to fly not bounce k.

All the best.

The ESC throttle wire should go on whatever channel is controlled by the throttle stick. Spectrum and others it is on Ch. 1, in your picture the transmitter is Futaba. Not a Futaba guy but I believe throttle is on Ch. 3.
