Default New build vibration question

Ok I'm ready to maiden my new 700. Spinning without the blades produces the picture.

It's been a long time since I ran a torq tube Heli. Is this normal?

Ok this was at 2080 rpm without blades in the first pic and at 1700 it was much much lower. Flew today with no problems once blades were balanced

Without tailblades there shoudn't be a spike at all. I've got a similar problem and it turned out to be the tape I used to hold the torque tube bearings. The tape was causing an imbalance od the TT... FWIW.... good luck

Oh I didn't think of that. I'll take the tube out and replace the tape with the same amount in each spot

Well it's not the tape. Not sure where it's coming from. I'll try taking the blade grips off next

Default New build vibration question

Just an update here. I bought new cyclone 105 tail blades and had the same vibration. Rebuilt a new torq tube and still had the vibes. My only thought is that the tail grips are not the exact same weight. Anyway a price of tape on one of the blades did the trick and now my vibes are down to about 100 current without the main blades. Could have done that from the beginning and been happy!
