fma co pilot 2 does not work

Default fma co pilot 2 does not work
i recently purchased a co pilot 2 package #3
this is my first new in package one, purchasing 2 used ones in the past.
since installing it per manual, i can not get it to power up from my receiver, or update the firmware. i have to connect another battery to the cp2 computer to get it to do anything, and when i do, the servos jitter crazily then stop moving. i then try to use the programmer, and it searches for device, but finds nothing. also when i try to update firmware, it does not update. i have the the #3 computer dongle for the update. loaded the drivers, and even installed the dongle test software, which says it passes
like i said, this is not my first go around with one of these, having great success it the past, but this new one is not behaving correctly
any help or advice would be most appreciated. i1ve contacted customer support, but have not heard back from them yet. this is the first install of this product
