Finished the looks of my heli today. Put the stickers on the boom and gave the all black TIG Z-weave 520mm blades a Radix paint scheme.
Turned out fantastic!

Just 'maidened' my Hurricane in my driveway while it's pitch black using only the streetlight to be able to see...

The tail doesn't even wag at 90% gain

I actually had to add negative Expo to the cyclic because there was almost a total deadzone in the cyclic stick.

Almost finished my second canopy. need to clean up glue residue and finish with a few layers of clearcoat.

Might add some shadows later on when i get an airbrush set up.

Not exactly sure what happened... pretty sure the ball link came off the swashplate. Which is odd, because I attempted to get that ball off to check for loctite not 10 minutes before that flight, and I couldn't get it unscrewed for the life of me. All of the electronics (except one servo) survived, but it's pretty much a complete re-kit.

Most likely I'll sell what I can and get a Gaui X4 II or another 500.

It 'was' a great heli though...

I just hope you didn't jinx me. Just waiting for a battery to charge right now. New motor, a rather modified pinion, new servos and horns, plus the Milton Mod on my Ikon in hopes of using the self leveling feature. It's a lot of changes. Fingers crossed!

Got a flight in. Too cold still! Everything at least works, but it's windy blowing directly in my face at a steady 20 mph I'd guess.

The helicopter heli started doing a weird elevator thing, then smashed into the ground... blades slammed down, hit the boom, and it pretty much exploded. Parts were found meters apart... Canopy was about over a meter from the heli, both boom supports ended up over 5m away from the heli, boom was 20m away from the boom supports, battery was three meters BEHIND me, half the tail case is gone... missing, no chance in finding it. Tail pushrod, same way. No CLUE where it is. The blade that hit the boom is destroyed, I'm gonna burn it and get the carbon cloth out of it.

But the skids survived

belt was also fine.

yes the battery survived without a scratch despite being thrown 20 feet onto (thankfully) grass

:Cheers I hate mystery crashes. I'm much more content to dumb-thumb it, at least I know when I rebuild it "don't do that".
