Default how unstable are these little things?

How UN stable are these beasts? The videos of hovers look like they are pretty squirly. Could you compare it to anything like a hbk 2 or is this thing pretty much the hardest thing to fly because of its instability?

pretty much, it's not so unstable, it's perhaps more stable than a 4#3B, but much much harder to fly. Being such a lightweight cp heli, just touch the cyclic and it's zooming through the air, never moves gently like the FP models do. It's IMO not bad for what it is, but if you're looking for something to fly round your living room you'd be far better off with a 4#3B (or A)

Thery are hard to fly. I think the 4G3 is much better than the 4#3b already. But I mean once you master this tiny thing I think you will not have any issue flying anything. I think I am very good at rebuilding it as I am still light years away from that stage.

When I got mine out of the box yesterday, the swash and servos were all over the place. Did a bit of remedial setup and it flies ok, but very twitchy

Have to say that, unfortunately, this is EXACTLY what I thought it would be: a low grade, poor quality, fragile, unstable, expensive toy. I only have to look at it and something else breaks!!!!!!!!!!! This time, after I had cut/trimmed some blades so that they would balance and give me a chance ti fly this since I got it out of the package on Christmas Day, it got about a foot of the ground and them did a rather comical helical spinning flop to the ground. Most of the plastic head has broken. More spares???? I think not !!!!!!!!

I'm absolutely delighted with mine, though don't expect it to fly well out of the box. Have a look here: https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=110702

Mine isn't flying at all at the moment as the battery vibrated out of the tray and caused a rather amusing spiral to the kitchen floor. Head wrecked. Blades wrecked.

Sorry to hear that, the battery sometimes falls out of the tray on mine too, though it's usually when I crash and an elastic band would no doubt be a solution. I wouldn't fly it indoors though, it moves a bit quickly for that, can be hard to control particularly if it's not set up. Test hovering is all I do indoors now with my 4G3, and that's only because I'm now a bit more used to it.

Thought I'd update this thread, add some wooden blades and this heli becomes extremely stable and a real joy to fly, I didn't realise just how much difference they were making until I tried the stock blades again.

So far the only wooden blades I've tried are from here: http://www.chinesejade.com/walkera.htm

I've also just discovered some carbon fibre blades here: http://www.hobby-wing.com/
Don't know what they are like yet, will probably start a new thread comparing them all when I get them

The venom will be compared with the Walkera 52 not the 4G3

You are correct my bad.

Dusty1000,
Did you receive the carbons? If so how do they fly? I would enjoy an honest eval.

Yes, the wooden blades from Chinese Jade I mentioned above. My first set only broke after 10 crashes (onto grass)
