Default RealFlight 6.5 helis with Stabilization and FailSafe?

Skookum Black Edition, Bavarian Deamon, and others have some great "safety" features that will automatically upright and stabilize a heli with a flick of a switch. They also have a "auto home" feature that will bring the heli back to it's starting location with a flip of a switch.

Are there any RealFlight 6.5 helis that have similar features? Something where the heli will bail out if I flip the switch usually associated with Dual Rates (Ch. 5)?

There actually IS the possibility of getting a Skookum-mode in RF... Just put some AFS gyros into the electronics and use them correctly

Bring heli to a hover in the middle of the screen... Hit the "P" button on your keyboard. Now when you get into trouble on the sim, just hit the red reset button the transmitter.

The P key simply starts the heli at whatever headspeed it had when you last hit the P key...it works in any position, even on the ground

All the P key does is eliminated the spoolup wait...but I suppose a reset is akin to a bailout

This actually is an interesting approach to simulating failsafe!

I have BD-3SX FBL's on both of my helis and yet I've crashed them both recently because I was too slow on hitting rescue. I almost think it's due to all the simulator time I've been logging lately (with our bad weather) and in the sim when I screw up I just fly the heli into the ground (which is what I did recently with my real helis even when I had my finger on the rescue switch).

I'm going to give this a shot. While not perfect, maybe it will at least get me back into the habit of reaching for the panic button when I get in trouble. Thanks for the idea!

Default RealFlight 6.5 helis with Stabilization and FailSafe?

As I said, selflevelling IS possible in the sim...

Understood, but I'm more interested in simulating the "rescue" mode on the BD-3SX which not only quickly levels the Heli but also applies full collective to stop you from hitting the ground. There is no way that I have found to simulate that in RF, but at least having a button that resets you back to a predefined level hover might help to train you to hit the button at least...

Of course the best approach for me is to fly the actual Heli more often than the simulator, but weather is just getting in the way right now.

Applying full collective must be possible too, there is nothing to speak against it! We made a Stingray fly in RealFlight. And a tiltrotor with helis instead of engines. I'll make an AV in the next days to prove it

v6.5 cannot apply a channel to head gain on the flybarless system, so no self level channel emulation. No 3SX, Ikon, Sk, etc... self level emulation capable. Definitely no rescue.

Wonder if they have done this (can do this) for v7?

I know Phoenix can do this (but I much prefer the OOTB way RF flies, the greater number of models, the quality of the user models, the physics, the training modes, etc...)

Enhancing the FBL settings options would be a definite reason for me to spend the extra $ to go from 6.5 to 7.

I would love to see any ideas you come up with around this. Thanks!

Darn... all the luck

I was so excited, but it won't work... I have RealFlight 6.5 and Johnny31297's heli (http://www.knifeedge.com/forums/down...=file&id=19525) requires RealFlight 7.

Anyone know if something like this exists for 6.5?

Just a little variant to prove that Self-Levelling, like Skookum, Brain, HC3SX etc do it, IS actually possible in RF. It's better actually, it works always and doesn't smash your heli in the dust when you fly just even a little 3D and bail it out then the Flip Channel 5 Switch up to activate it.
How did you configure SL for CH5 (usually gyro)? Can this be retro-fitted to existing models, or is this only on new ones?

I could not see in the Electronic Flybar settings a way to assign FB leveling (like a coax) or attach it to a channel. Nor did I see an option that looked like it could work that way.

Really interested in this. With passthrough from the Taranis (or even DX8), I can sort of simulate rescue (if I can activate SL).

Just wait for it... I'll give you a 6.5 compatible variant later. Will be based on the Logo 700.
