I get the same noise and I fly the 2520 motor and 6s.

I have a tight belt and still get it.

I just fly with it.

I always wonder how some people can fly with their mini P without a tight belt and never seem to get that noise.

Its definitely not the tail.

I don't think its the one way bearing slipping as you would get a loss of power.

Perhaps the belt is slipping on one way bearing as the teeth are wearing away?

The 2520 motor has heaps of torque compared tp stock 6s motor. Perhaps a used belt cannot handle all this torque

Maybe changing the belt will fix the sound issue.

If you work out what is causing the noise I would love to know.

Well I put my new stretch belt and 15t pinion at the same time as the 2520 motor so my belt is not used (only 20 flights since I put them in, due to various issues).

I really don't see how the belt could be slipping on the motor pinion with the pulley that holds the belt against it, but I am running my belt quite loose on the motor, I'll try tightening it up and see if it changes something tomorrow.

Else I have a new 15t pinion on the way and I shall see if that changes anything or not.

Flew it today with the tightened belt around the pinon and tail, it was perfect on 5S at 2800rpm.
Then I tried 6S, at 2800rpm it was fine, then I pushed it to 3200 and it was doing that weird noise so I landed quickly. Put a 5S lipo after and it was fine.

I should have a new pinion coming in tomorrow but I'm not sure if i'll put it in, as I only have one 6S lipo and six 5S lipos, and the power at 2800rpm on 5S is fine for me (pretty much unboggable, and I like the 5min flight time).

Is it a buzzing / clicking noise? I started getting such a noise on my 3S Mini P when I was doing big loops yesterday - in my case the belt etc/ are at least 2 years old.

There is a video of the noise I get on the previous page, mine is 4 months old , has about 100 flights and I've changed quite a few parts (3 crashes), the belt is 30 flights old.

Adding Edge 60s to mine, has made serious improvement!

Today was a windy day, so I was able to test my new setup out in the wind, I am happy to report the tail is solid, doing fast funnels and mobus funnels and the tail was locked down, and not even making much noise!

You have to bear with me, I am trying to learn some new stuff, so I was higher than normal for a fair bit of this flight!

Lynx bell crank and a new belt, with Edge 60s and the tail is the best it has ever been for me on the Mini!

I already have the lynx bellcrank, radix 59 carbon blades and my belt is 30 flights old, and my tail is rock solid @ 2800rpm.
I've come to the conclusion that's it's the OWB slipping a bit when I put 6S and 3200rpm in it.
The tail wagging is just the most obvious sign of it.

I do have a new pinon to try out, but i'm sticking to 5S for now as it's already plenty for me (and I like to fly 5min), and I only have 1 6S lipo atm anyways.

I had the same noise yours is making, I think it was the belt, when I changed the belt, and started running the new one tighter, it seemed to get rid of the noise?

Well I was getting that noise even on 5S at 2800rpm, when I tightened the belt it went away, but I still get it when I fly on 6S at 3200rpm.

I am running right there at 3200 and so far mine is doing good. I am running the front tension higher than I have ever before.

be careful not to run the front portion of the belt too tight. In time the front pulley will fail mid flight out due to the excessive forces placed on it.

I had this happen to me a few times
