Header tank issue
I have noticed when I'm flying in flight mode, and come in for a landing my header tank has about .25 inch of fuel missing from it. The main tank still has fuel. All new fuel line. Both new header and main tank. I am using the stock fuel line and clunk inside the main tank...Any Idea what may be causing this.... I wondering if the main tank clunk isn't following the fuel when inverted.

Yep. Or you have a leak in the system.

Re: Header tank issue
I had the same issue, I tried changing the clunk tubing. This helped but the header was still coming down not filled fully. Was also getting some lean spots in flight.
I got rid of the header and replaced the clunk with a fuel magnet, my lean spots in flight disappeared and the motor seems to run alot happier. Sent from my GT-I9300T using Tapatalk 2

I also got rid of my header and now use a Lynx M.O.A.S. fuel magnet. Never going back to header tank.

I have used Fuel Magnets for several years with good results...but, you have to replace the foam every three months as it deteriorates. I switched to the Lynx MOAS with the Lynx clunk line in all my heli's several months ago. The Lynx works just as well as the Fuel Magnet and does not deteriorate.
Do not be fooled when emptying the tank with a pump through the Lynx MOAS. It will suck large quanities of air. However, when used during flight, the engine receives bubbleless fuel delivery and it will completely empty the tank. I do not use header tanks any longer either except for my X50 for extra fuel capacity. |
