I took the canopy from my Furion 6 and test fitted it. It would fit perfectly with different mounting holes. It is a lower profile canopy so it doesn't sit below the skids like the stock 700e canopy does. If one were to order a custom F6 canopy from Fusuno with no holes and a Trex700 graphic I think it would look nice. Personally I thought it would look funny with the large canopy but when I saw of in person I found I really like it.

Dan told me that the Logo 600 canopy is a perfect fit.

I will try and do a pic but it doesn't have the holes in the right place so it may not stay on by itself. I can also confirm that the logo 600 canopy goes right on.

Default The HORNET!

Had a sorta compromised canopy that inspired this. My servos don't fit under the stock canopy either.

That sux. I was just about to buy this kit but don't want to hack up my new canopy. You think he/they would have made some sort of standoff that would hold the canopy out......I suppose I'll send them another email.

Oh, no the design is great. I used HV servos that are about 10-12mm taller than normal, so this is all my doing. I used a pair of stock tail rotor servo mounts to make rings that put the servos in the right position. The geometry change of the pushrods is negligible. I could have definiltely used the canopy in it's original form with a little tinkering, but this was calling me. I LOVE it! \

It's the HORNET, BABY!!

The 600 3D and 600se canopies are the same size.

Any thoughts on using this CHP DL frame with an 800 boom and blades? With the added tail weight. Would it be possible to use 6s 5000mah packs to balance it out?

Funny as I was just thinking the same thing. Imagine a 800mm bladed helicopter weighing in at around 10lbs.....can you say, "Power to weight?"

I was thinking the same about the 800 conversion. I bet it would work. I know a Guy who was flying his CHP frames with 5000s. It didn't balance but flew fine that way. I bet with the 800 boom you'd be just about right. One caveat though is you need to watch the physical size of the packs. His TP 5000s wouldn't fit under a Fusuno canopy but did fine under a logo 600 canopy. I believe the Fusuno has slightly less room in it than the stock but am not sure of that.

That sounds like a real wild combo! I'm just worried how well the main gear will hold together once a bit of stick banging happens.. I thought 800 blades were pretty hard on main gears if you fly hard or with a powerful setup?

One thing to keep in mind is you'd have a very light 800 so much less stress on the gears than something like a Logo XXTREME. Not to say you wouldn't have problems but I believe you'd have a good chance of it holding together. Especially those new helical gears. They seem pretty rugged.

Hmmmm...I had thought about the 800 conversion just to be able to use heavier packs. I think 800 blades would make this machine too slow. Granted, the disc loading would be super-light but it would fly like a kite. I don't think it would penetrate very well and would lose momentum too quickly on certain maneuvers.

I wasn't impressed by the Logo XXtreme with 800mm blades at IRCHA and it's CLEARLY a much heavier machine. When I saw Kyle Dahl fly the XXtreme again at the SRC it was much better. I asked what they changed and Kyle's dad said they had started using 750mm blades, lightened it up a bit, and it really came to life. Just sayin'...

However, for AP use, the DL frame swinging 800s might be an excellent platform.
