Hi Bjorn,

Switching to mode 1 or 2 was an easy task on my graupner radio; I just opened the tx and switch the stick and "ressort".

Hi Cédrik, you might be right, but do a search in the Radio 2,4 ghz section. I seems to recall that many had troubles to switch from mode 1 to mode 2, and of course, you have no guarantee on it any longer :-/

I contacted Horizon hobby UK, this is their reply :

Quote:
I'd suggest you buy your DX7 in the UK, it will then comply and prevent you having to declare vat and duty on your import and then pay us a fee to have it made compliant.
Damn, If I buy it in the UK, I will have : customs + VAT ... it will cost me 340 euros ... 500 USD !!!!

Default latest information

Hi everyone,

This is the last feedback I have on this topic :

Quote:
Hi Cedric

The French authorities limit the bands available on 2.4ghz, at the moment there is no programme available that suits the French market so to my knowledge Spektrum is not legal for use in France.

jurassic5, apart from the legal point of use, why do you have to pay customs and VAT when ordering from the UK ???
You are in France, aren`t you?

He doesn't if he lives in France. There is no customs and/or VAT within EU

Yeah, I don't have to pay more taxes, but I pointed out that buying the DX7 in the EU is like EXPENSIVE !

Anyway, It's illegal, I'm stuck !

I've stated that if I buy a DX7 now I will be outlaw. And I'll have to send it back to spektrum for reprogramming.

So no DX7 for me

If you order a radio from another EU country, then VAT is paid in the countr of purchase, if ordered from the UK you would pay 17.5%VAT. If ordered from the US then you wouldn't pay tax in the US but might have to pay French VAT and Import duty. The experiences I've had recently with importing goods from the US to the UK is that out Customs & Excise people are very hot on recovering taxes on US imports, less so than from the far east. If the goods are delivered by Parcelforce in the UK then they send you a bill for the handling charge before the delivery, usually around £14/$28!

Thanks everyone for the huge help you gave me.

I'm gonna buy this DX7 (I keep changing mind I know) mode 1 with a AR7000 included.

My last question:

I need three other receivers :
- one for my T28 parkflyer plane (I want it to go more than 300meters above me)
- one for my TREX450sev2
- one for my electring soaring plane (same than my parkflyer?)

Which one should I get ?

Thanks a lot for the last help!

Cédric

Thanks a lot Kevin.

I'm done.

If a moderator could move this topic in the Radio section that would be great!
