I agree, it is a bit of a personal choice.

I see the Rx and the BX as quite different.

The RX uses the DSM2 Protocol which is at least 7 years old. The protocol was decoded a long time ago, even by hobbyists curious about how it worked. Selling compatible equipment for a protocol that is private to increase sales and lock customers into a brand of Tx/Rx isn't that bad, in my opinion.

Cloning a flybarless unit to the point that it can be configured by the same process as described in the original manual is plain theft. If they have gyros and want to implement their own interface for it to sell cheap (robird), that is fine by me.
