Question Pro to L or 470L

I am thinking about converting my 450 Pro DFC to a 450L.
My pro all ready has the L tail boom and 360 blades. If some on has done so can they give me a compiled list of the parts to needed to do this.

I should also mention I want to convert so the ESC can sit outside of the frame. As the ESC is the main focus other than the pro frame going out of stock eventually. ( the ESC I have is a 40A tarrot ESC) would it be better to get a 470L kit or super combo instead of converting the pro?

thanks in advance.

If the Pro is flying well, leave it as it is and get the 470LP on ebay.

470L is best.

to convert a pro to a true 450L you will need a new frame and canopy. the center hub is also different.

I have mixed all of them after various crashes: Trex 450 Pro DFC, Tarot 450 Pro V2, Trex 450L Dominator.

Basically you only have to change the frame parts. A "partfinder" is in several online shops (for example www.live-hobby.de, www.freakware.de )

All gears match exactly.

Cool 3s to 6s via 470

450 Pro to 450L

I too started with 450 Pro and converted 2 Pro to 450L

470 fame is wide enough that it can take two 3s LiPo with some tape then add a Series LiPo adapter to get your 6s.

XT60 Series adaptor (2pcs per bag) $3

450 Pro is 3s where the 450L and 470L are both 6s but with the 470L it can handle two 3s

IMO to convert a 450 to 450L or buy a $190 Align 470 it would be less costly to buy a 470, What is really nice is most of your 450 parts and LiPo can be used on your new 470

I personally would go with the 470L off ebay....cheap.

OR

If you really want to covert your pro to an L, just do this....$65 and everything is there.

What all did you change to do the conversion? How did the 450l canopy fit on the DFC frame?

I bought a 450l frame nip off ebay($65), it came with both bearing blocks, bottom plate, esc mount. I already had the 450l tail. Head was a direct fit. I also used my tail servo and mount from my dfc, the 450l uses a micro servo for the tail. It was well worth it. The 450l canopy will not fit the 450dfc frame. I’m not using the dfc frames, mine is a complete 450l now

Just doing the tail mod is sufficient, but I just wanted a modern look and easier access to the servos. Forgot I had to add the 450l linkage balls. I was lucky to find the frame kit, it would be to expensive piecing all the parts. I’m thinking around $100 to convert the frame if you bought all the parts

"converting" a Pro to 450L seems a bit difficult, as the frame and tail are different.
what parts actually interchange? the mainshaft, head and landing gear?

looks like buying a lightly used 450L would be more cost effective.
