Sorry to resurrect an old thread guys, but I'm thinking about getting that very same MH canopy and wondered what you guys that have it think about it's weight and durability?

I have the Lynx Angry birds canopy on one of my BL's and it's very tough, but also pretty dammed heavy too. I need to run it with 100% throttle and plenty of pitch or it drops like a brick!!

By contrast, with the stock canopy it's way more responsive doing pitch pumps at only 80% throttle, and it also makes a big difference to the flight times too, due to the extra weight.

Yes...I call it the Double 6-Pak...2 6mm stock tail motors, one wired to spin in reverse...

It works fine as long as you back off of the pitch servo travel a bit so the tail FET doesn't read an overload...

A slightly better option is the Oversky 7mm tail motor...strong enough to handle the HP05 brushless outrunner main motor

Jonjet,

So.... are these canopy's pretty durable? What's the weight like? Does it make the BL feel heavy, link the Lynx one, or a lighter feel?

Thanks

I ordered one and I hope its a little heavier than stock cause I have the stretch boom and its a little tail heavy..these things have a high enough headspeed that I doubt I will notice the diff. im flipping it and Im only using iu 1 and its at 80%..and that's good enough for me right now

Personally, I like the heavier canopy's and the mCPX BL seems to fly better heavy with more stability...

But that's JMO after 3 dozen have come across My workbench

I've done quite a bit of testing using various motor setups...from the old standby favorite with the brushless conversion crowd using the 120SR's 8.5mm tail motor w/RCC 65mm prop...to the Double-6Pak and the 7mm Oversky...

I even experimented with some other styles, but the Oversky 7mm has proven it's worthiness in every manner from pure stock brushed motors to the HP05 outrunner...

As time permits, I'll be swapping out everything else I have for the 7mm's...they are just that good
