Awesome vids as ever all.

I have been playing with my much smaller cam and have made my hat cam much more usable and hence more useful for tracking my flights and errors.

I flew 4 packs today wearing it, three of which were great.

Pack three:

The last pack though was one of those "it's getting dusky, shouldn't really fly but oh well" kind of moments.

Ironically I had said this in a thread in a different forum earlier:

Quote:
I've just started learning tic tocs in my real flying because I am now happy hovering in all upright positions, inverted nose in and a little bit of inverted side in so I thought there isn't many orientations that I can come out of a bad tic toc at that I can't recover from.
The heli gods punished me for my insolence (excuse the curse at the end)!

Once I'd cleaned the clay off (the blades were literally buried) damage wasn't too bad. I was initially worried the servos might be fried as they were stuck in position becuase of the clay but once I had dug it out and un twisted the flybar they seemed to work fine. I will bench test them with some load to be sure and keep a close eye on them for the first few flights after my re-maiden.

Airframe damage is limited to blades, boom, main shaft, flybar and canopy mounts. I will also change the feathering shaft and flybar carrier if they look damaged. Same with the tail shaft. The blade grips, main and tail, look OK but I will double check these when I take the head and tail apart. Main shaft bearings all seem fine as do the tail bearings. The battery took a mild beating but seems OK.

I have all the parts on hand so it looks like one evening this week I will be wrenching!

Take it easy all.

I really enjoyed watching that vid dante. Great flying, really smooth and controlled. I could watch those piroetting figure eights all day. Thanks for sharing the vid.

It sounded to my novice ears that your headspeed remained pretty constant throughtout the flights with no bogging at all. Beyond your great collective management skills care to share your setup (motor, esc, pinion, etc).

Thanks again for the vid.

thanks for your comment!
I fly the last carbon kit with the new yge esc and scorpion motor included in it.
14t pinion and the 2800 38c 6s gigapower as battery.
cyclic servo 3x savox sh 1250, and the mks bls 980 with spartan quark for the tail.
flat throttle curve at 80% idle1, and 85% idle 2.
+/- 12 degrees of collective.

thanks again!

Wow! Really nice collective management!

I've calculated your head speed: 3120RPM at the beginnig and 2460RPM at the end

Simple question:
pitch: ?

I'm not guessing. Your blades were spinning at 104Hz at the begining and 82Hz at the end which gives me those values. It's pretty easy and very precise
Am I right with your headspeed?

I told you it's precise Actually that's one of the reasons why I like Kontronik's governor. Same head speed from the beginning up to the very end
