Default Reversing the iCharger 4010 DUO Channel Screens

I'm building a charger case and thinking of mounting the DUO with the screen extension so the screen can be in the lid of the case.

I would like to then mount the DUO unit turned around so I can get it as close to the top side of the deck as possible. This will give me heaps of deck surface with buttons as far away as possible, nearly flush with the top of the deck.

The challenge is that the left Chanel (1) on the screen will be on the right hand side of the case and the right Channel (2) on the screen will be on the left hand side of the case.

Probably something that I can live with but wonder what would be involved in either swapping the screen sides over or something internal, or a firmware patch.

I might be being to ambitious and should probably just mount it right way round and loose a few inches of deck real estate.

Anyone got any thoughts on this?

Thanks
Stu

Rearranging the items on the screen sounds, to me, like an unrealistic undertaking.

A user (TeroS) in the RCGroups thread about the Duos wrote his own interface, to use an Android tablet, as I recall. He did it more as an interesting project for himself, not something that people can just install on their device. It sounded like a lot of work. I realize that's not what you're describing, but your idea almost sounds even harder in a away

His finished product:

Is the problem that the buttons will also be on the wrong side?

Some people have kind of buried the chargers, I think, when doing remote screens. In that case, could you simply make extensions for the main and balance leads, and mount them to a board/tray, lined up with whatever you wanted? Then you could put the channel 1 connections wherever you liked. This wouldn't help with button locations, of course.

I suspect your right and my thinking us that I'm making the idea of my build more complicated that it needs to be...

Thought I'd ask just the same.

It must have been a massive undertaking to rewrite the GUI.. A lot of reverse engineering first, then code, test, code test... Very cool.

I think I'll just mount mine the correct way.
