Default iKON Flybarless on 600 NITRO PROBLEM

Hi,

I've been using an IKON on my TREX 450 and it works beautifully. The self leveling feature works awesome.

I just installed an iKON on my TREX600 Nitro, and have it set up properly. I'm using the beginner setup with AUTO Level turned on.

The self level appears to work perfectly when the engine is not running. However, when I start up the engine, and apply throttle, the swashplate tilts to the extreme right.

Any ideas on what could be causing this? Could the vibrations from the engine be confusing the unit?

Does anyone have any experience with using the iKON on a nitro bird? Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?

Thanks for any help or advice!

Joe

Thanks for your reply.

Where can I get this "Zeal Tape?" I've never heard of it before.

Unfortunately it's been hard to find lately. It's made by Kyosho.

People have been substituting Align PU gel for Zeal.

use with caution still my man. i have an ikon on an elec heli, and when setup right and vib precautions taken the sl does work decent, but it can still be hit and miss. with a nitro or a gasser i would go with HC3SX for sure. i set one up on my gasser this weekend and the SL works perfect. the IKON is very sensitive to vibrations VERY.

also, do not take off or land with SL active. i have heard of guys saying it works for them, but the vib's from the skids on the ground or the asphault, whatever your on, will cause it to lean hard, and possibley roll to the ground. the IKON SL is ok for a bailout if you set it up just right, and have a vertially vibration free heli, but to try to fly around with, i wouldnt do it.

the ONLY SL that i have seen first hand, that actually works as described, and not vibration sensitive is the 3SX.

just my .02

and yea, i do own an ikon, and i do fly an ikon. and it flys great too! great FBL unit for sure, heli locked in, and flys like a champ. but i just prefer the 3sx when it comes to SL.

I have experience on nitro and electric. On the nitro I use align pu gel pad with a metal plate and then the ikon pad with a zip tie in fuel tubeing to hold it down. Works great, sl works every time. but make sure the motor is tuned right
