Default No Failsafe with RX + SAT?

Is it just me? Am I missing something...

I'm setting up an R10 with an Rsat2.

I tested throttle failsafe, and it doesnt work... Motor just keeps running...

Failsafe on R10 alone (without Rsat2) works fine

Are you trying to use the R-sat as a sat? What application? What's the rest of the setup?

When using RX and a sat the failsafe must be disabled in the sat. Only the RX fail safe will be used.

Yes, the Rsat with the R10 is being used as a satellite - I don't think it can be used in any other way...

My settings are all correct as per Jeti's instructions, and I get the 'weak signal' alarm if the Rsat2 is disconnected.

But the system will not recognise that my DS-16 has been turned off, and the throttle channel (the only one I've programmed) does not go into failsafe.

I'm just repeating myself here I think, there's not much more I can say that I didn't say in my original post... The failsafe works fine when there is no Rsat2 in the loop...

I smell a firmware bug.

But is the Rsat FS disabled?

Of course it is - I followed the instructions on Jeti's website...

Maybe this is a crippling limitation, not a bug after all...

I'll be removing the Rsat I suppose...

An update.

Failsafe will not work with an Rsat2 connected to an R10, whether it is set as a clone, or whether it is set up in dual path mode.

To be absolutely precise, you CAN set up the Rsat2 in dual path mode and have the failsafe work... (Keep the R10 Sat input set to OFF instead of PPM in) However in this way there will be no communication at all between the Rsat2 and the R10 - The Rsat2 will only be used as a sort of stand-alone telemetry interface.

So to make things clear, if the R10 antennas were to cease functioning, the Rsat2 antennas wouldn't be of any use.

However, when the Rsat2 is set up correctly in dual-path mode, or indeed clone mode, with the R10, failsafe will not function.

Groucho, being impatient with the person trying to help is not exactly condusive to wanting to help you some more.
I know sometimes it comes out of frustration trying to make what you want works. But getting shot down is never pleasant, when after all this is sharing of information on a voluntary basis.

But you found the solution on your own.

Are you serious Puttputt?

Where was I impatient? The fact is that I wasn't, so you must have read something that wasn't there.

And no, unfortunately I did not find any solution. I'm just reporting my findings - sharing my information as you so correctly put it.
