Default Governor Mode HW 40

I have a Hobbywing 40 platinum in my Oxy 3 and am having a problem with IU-2 in governor mode. I have tried numerous ways to teach the esc gov. mode after I set it up with the interface cable or HW programmer. I let it get up to speed by flipping off TH with throttle curve at 50-50. Seems to work fine and speeds up at IU-1 with 70-70. When I switch to IU-2, no matter what my throttle curve is at, 80-80, 85-85, the motor starts slowing down. Of course I set throttle endpoints before I began this process. Esc works great at all speeds with governor off.

Did you have any luck figuring this out? I'm having a very similar problem, and I see a few people are also struggling with the same sort of thing in the OXY3 forum. The general solution there seems to be to just turn the gov off.

Thanks
MB

I don't think so, I've had it for approx. 2 years. The esc is a powerhouse in gov. off mode. I ended up just using a pretty steep throttle curve in normal mode, 85-85 in IU-1, 95-95 in IU-2. Worked great until I got a great deal on a Talon 35 which is perfect for the Oxy 3.

The older HW esc use a different gov then the V3 ones. No need to do the calibration at 50%. I've never used it but word is that the older gov isn't up to par...

Actually the governor worked well in IU-1, I always thought calibrating @ 50% was strange. What do you recommend calibrating at?

There is no calibration option on the older HW ESC's.

You need the manual, which has to graph and choose gov High or Low.

You use the graphs to get the throttle percentage and whether high or low...

Thanks for this, I'll look it over. I have a usb link and Hobbywing programmer which does work with this esc. I was't aware of a version 3 of this esc.
