I bought an align tail a couple of months back that had 3 bad bearings out of 4 that were installed. So I would tear it down to the extent that you can check all the bearings and bolts.

Definitely go through it yourself. On my 500, all the screws that bolt the sides of the tail case to the center section were about 1mm too long. Could have caused some serious vibes, or even worse, a short maiden!

Bottom line is, you never really know its right unless you do it yourself.

After a number of align kits - I find that they use little or no locktite on the follower arms - and they WILL come apart - right where they attach to the plastic yokes that hold in the two flange bearings..... especially if you use an after-market head.

And locktite everything that goes into the swash.

I've noticed opposite on tails in kits - they use too much or use a high strength one.
A lot of times I have to heat the bolt heads to break loose first time - so you don't out right strip em.......

You should always check the tail box integrity - make sure you dont have this problem -

You would only discover this on reassembly....shame on you align.....

Maybe there's too many moving parts for quality control - so you have to fill in there....
