Default Main gear stripped midflight?

Hey Frenzy subforum! I recently picked up a used Frenzy here, my first nitro heli. Like every used heli I buy, there seem to be bugs I have to get worked out--but I'm slightly confused by the nature of nitro helis. Specifically, I noticed a noise coming from what seemed like the one-way bearing on the main gear. Thinking it wasn't an issue (have had one ways lock up on electrics before), I kept flying. On the 5th flight or so, I noticed a weird noise, brought/autoed it down and found that the main gear had stripped. I was only hovering and did a tame climbout immediately prior.

After taking things apart, the one way on the main gear was fine, the noise was coming from the clutch. I started taking it apart and nothing jumped out as the culprit to me.

So, my questions are--are these 2 things related? What should I look for as being bad in the clutch? I don't want to throw a main gear at it only to shred another one. Thanks much!

squeky;

I've encountered the same problem, but my heli was brand new. Stripped my main gear while hovering and breaking in my new engine. I'm very dissappointed in the gear quality as it's just a straight plastic gear. Buy the Raptor 50 gear, which is a nylon reinforced gear and you won't have this problem again. It even looks exactly like the original crappy one. I've been running mine with it since, with no problems as of yet.

Was the main gear meshed correctly?
I have the TZv2 90 and it requires the user to set the gear mesh and clutch alignment.
I've been flying mine for many gallons with no issues.
