Default New Readyheli.com Lepton Tail Servo Mount - Full-Size!

Guys:

We just finished up the prototype mount for our proof of concept 9254 tail servo mount for the Lepton kit....now you can mount a full-size digital servo within the frame, get the speed you need and not affect CG at all! No more goofy full-size servos hanging out of the side of the frames...

Kit will include:

Delrin Tail Servo Mount
Carbon Fiber Tail Pushrod
Threaded rods for ball links

Price TBD. We are going to start production, so if you are interested, let us know.

Thanks for looking.

John

I've got a silly question. What if I want to take the servo arm off? Do I need to drill an access hole in the tail boom to do that? I'm not sure I see the point.

you unscrew it from above the boom block...its easy. the point? running a full-size digital protected inside the frame that doesnt affect the helis CG by running it on the boom or outside the frame.

im sorry if i didnt make that clear in my first post.

How long and arm can you run and how close to the boom center is it?

we are using a full size circle, with the sides slightly trimmed...looking at your own frames you should be able to gauge the size disc...why would you want to run an arm-style horn on your tail?

as for how far is it from the boom center, it is intentionally designed to hold the servo disc ball link offset so the carbon tail pushrod is perfectly 90 degrees to the tail rotor linkage.

Why would I want to run a disk? On the Lepton I use the 6 sided servo horn with the ball all the way out on the arm. This works perfectly with either a 611 Futaba gyro or a CSM 720 using the 9251/56 servo.

I guess I can assume that you aren't using the 2mm pushrod either?

looks sweet, as said above - few difficult issues with changes, but assume it won't happen very often, anyway I assume you would need to sell new push-rod clamps also (i.e. the ones including the tail-fin holder or separate ones), because of the fat carbon rod, or is there anyhow a possibility to still use the stock one ?

John put me down for one. I like the fact that I won't have that full size servo popping out the side of the frame. Great work!! Keep the upgrades coming.

Count me in too!

BTW - I sent the fiberglass canopy I bought from you to Dave Yost for a custom paint job, essentially the Szabo Avant scheme reworked for the Lepton -- should be pretty cool (until it kisses the ground ). I spoke to Dave a few weeks back and he thought I might see canopy art before Spring :wink. I will let you know how it turns out (let me know if you would like pics once I receive.)

John,

Will this also fit the logictech 6100 servo? While the case is the same size as the 9256, the ears make it a little longer. It's a killer gyro for the Lepton.
