Question Tail motor pinion gear Replacement

Has anyone replaced the Tail motor pinion gear. After a crash looks like a lost one tooth on the motor pinion gear. I have the replacement but have no idea how to get that little one off and the new one back on.

Hi Astrokc1
You will need a .9 mm hex tool to remove the tail gear , it's a pain but can be done you may find some locktight on the thread so take your time the rest is pretty straight forward
Hope this helps
Cheers watho

Question Im talking about the motor gear not the blade gear.

Watho I think your the only person that ever offers a reply after 36 people viewed this question. Im talking about the motor gear the little one attached to the tail motor.

Hi Astrokc
Just come down to the work bench to have a look and it looks like it is pressed on, so you may need some sort of gear pulley or be inventive
I would say it should not take much to get off but I have never removed one
Sorry
OK just had a play on the bench,I use a pulley to get the gear off, comes off easy, but I used a pulley, not a great deal of effort but a little,
Possible could be done with pliers or similar
Hope this helps enjoy your flying
Cheers watho
Sorry to get the new one on
I just placed it on the bench (square or 90*) placed a bit of cloth over it (doubled or tripled) and gave it a tap (small hammer or large pliers)
Cheers watho

Default tail motor pinion gear

Well, I don't see any way to replace the pinion gear on the motor. Tried to yank the gear of with pliers, all it did was break the nylon gear portion. tried to use pliers to remove the remaining aluminum portion that was left on the shaft with pliers , also did not work. Used heat and that removed the remaining portion of the gear. Tried to lightly tap the new gear on the shaft NO way would it go on, and in fact broke the opposite side of the motor loose from the housing. For grins already ruined the motor tried to heat the shaft and push the gear on and all it did was melt the nylon on the new gear. Oh well I tried.
