It's interesting that the new canopy appears to be FG. I'm hopeful that the 500 will come out mostly in CF and CNC right from the get go.

This is not good for my OCD.......I have too many hobbies (as my wife tells me). Maybe I'll start buying the support equipment first and then the heli and bateries last.....Yeah thats the ticket!

600N debuted in the same way—in 'Pro' dress first, then in 'Sport' later.

Is there any reliable word on the power system? I've heard 2 t-rex 450 packs, and I think that would be awesome, but doesen't that mean configuration options would be 6s1p(2100mah, which might be short on run time), or 3s2p(4200mah, which might be short on power)

I'm 44 now and my eyes aren't as good as they used to be and I can't see my 450 that well. I think the 500 would suit me better.

Did this work on you guys?? Should I try it on my wife now?

I just saw this over on TheTrexForums from Kyna.
http://www.thetrexforums.com/index.php?topic=2287.15

Looks like there is confirmation about the 425mm blade size and that it will have some new features over the 600. It also will be more than 30 days out and closer to Xmas (November???). After watching the flood gates open with these trickles of information I can see why Align waited so long before releasing information.

Hopefully we'll get specs on battery choices soon.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Symon you are on top of things as usual.

The 500 does take 425 size blades and will be similar in size to the Lepton. The goal is to have them in customers hands in time for Christmas. Originally we were thinking October, but that was pushing it a little bit.

It is not a "shrunken" 600, of there are some similarities in the design but expect to see some NEW things with this helicopter.

We are all VERY excited for it's release. Testing will begin soon, so there should be plenty of pictures and information coming in the next weeks.

There will be no rush on the 700. The 700 is a very special project and to rush it would comprimise all that it could be. There is no reason for Align to just throw a helicopter together, instead the design team is working hard on taking years of experience to develop a truely unique and powerful machine. It will be worth the wait, but don't expect it any sooner than Spring 2008.

Best Regards,

Many thanks to thetrex600forum for the pic - this is the first glimps of the latest heli to storm the world, the Christmas must have prezzy for all you trex lovers, as mentioned before here its a mini 600E, many similarities but just smaller. We belive its a 6 cell model (2x3cells) like the Hurricane but still to be confirmed. There are also some new items on the 500 model, still to be seen. You can follow the talk over on the forum.... thanks again Sy.

So, I gotta ask... why does Symon over on TheTrexForum.com seem to get the first scoops on all the Align news over the others? You would think HF would get some of these first flows of info but that doesn't seem to happen.

But Kyna stated 425mm blades in the thread from thetrexforums.com so there is some mismatch in specs here.

Those sizes have question marks against them as they where the first initial sizes given 6 months ago from the Align boss. Things have changed since

He said yesterday that 430-450 were going through test now

Kyna gets her info straight from Jason (chief designer)...so between Kyna's info and the Align Boss's info they're not going to be too far apart.

As for helifreak...they have the whole heli world to sort out and will be far more busier in all fields so missing out on one picture on model isn't a big deal. Helifreaks is the biggest forum dedicated to helis We're just little compared

You're going to need a turbine tail or a longer main shaft. You need more tail thrust!

Honestly... if you all think it will be this year with NO PICS OR VIDS from Align already... You are DREAMING,,,, sorry but getting kits as soon as they are out and experiencing the REAL delivery... If Align pulls out this year for CUSTOMERS not PILOTS I would be suprised...

Honestly I hope they do but knowing how long it can take.... I seriously doubt it!
This is NOT a slam against Align man.... It's a realistic view of what can be here in the US considering it is October already!

I tell you what! If they get it out and customers can BUY IT before Xmas.... I will take Jason and Kyna out to one of the best restaurants in the OC on ME!

Actually if they came to OC and wanted to say hello I would buy them that dinner anyway

Bob

yeah, you know after I saw this thread I expected pics within a week or so. I agree with you bob, they cant test, finalize, manufacture, and package enought helis to fill the supply line in a few weeks.

If it does show up this month, then I'll be equally impressed. Of cource no dinners on me... I'm buying a 500
