Heli Dead...is it the ESC or Motor?
I have a Walkera 4#6S. My heli will not spool up. The pinion on the motor definitely does not spin. This happened very suddenly. I encountered no problems on my last flight. I do however get pitch, aileron, and yaw movement from my rx. This has been my first heli. I've flown it for around 15 flights. Yes I've crashed which would sometimes result in the blades overlapping each other. But I've always got it to fly afterward. The only other quirk is that on occasion, when I connect my lipo, I get successful pairing with my rx but the motor will not spool. Does this mean I should buy a replacement motor? or is it possible that the ESC is gone?

Another question for the experienced guys, to test an ESC, couldnt you try moving the throttle up and using a multi meter to see a voltage increase in the leads from the ESC to the motor?? That would let you know if the motors dead or if no voltage, the ESC is shot?

It's rare for the esc to go like that. I'm thinking a loose wire connecting the motor.
Did you crash last flight before it stopped?

Nope it happened quite suddenly. Which was a surprise to me. I don't see any loose wires at all. I have a voltmeter but which wires from the ESC-to-motor do I test (the white, black, red)?
