Default yge rpm lead

Hello, I just watched the yge video of mr mels and after seeing the pop up text comment at the end i'm a little confused and unsure. I've been running a 100lv just about all year and was not really solid answers out there for programming and just had to wing it. i didn't do the end points like was shown in the video, i just set a 0-`100 curve and used the card to set high and low points and did the start and max set up on the vbar software and that seems fine but my main concern is that on my full size vbar i have the rpm lead plug direct into the rpm sensor port and it appears to be working just fine, is that not cool and i'm risking damage to the vbar or is it ok on the full size? the mini i knew from the start to only run the orange wire to the top pin and put the red and brown into another servo port. i know the gov is working and working very well.

YGE with BEC = Orange ONLY to RPM Sensor II port, Red/Black (power) to other side VBar to share the load.

YGE without BEC = Adapter cable needed, to Sensor II port.

ok, so i have the the one on the mini right since i'm using the internal bec but running a external bec on the 100LV with full size so i have to make the adaptor now. i'm assuming since i didn't smoke it and everything seems to be working that i didn't damage the vbar. i would imagine it would be pretty clear if it was damaged?

Actually i want to clarify, when you say yge with or without bec are you speaking of the LV vs HV? i have two LV models and one the bec is intact but on the other (one with full size) i have the red lead removed and run a external BEC. but that model is factory BEC so is it still trying to send power out on the rpm lead?

Mystic,
I have seen that before and I don't recall who instructed me to do so but I was told (then) that the adaptor was only for the HV models and that the LV was plug n' play but now appears otherwise. That being said I would have never worried about it if it wasn't for the yge video since the gov has been working. No errors on log, see the start and stop on the log and holds HS great. When i turn the gov off i can see and hear a HUGE difference. It bogs really back on a regular flat curve

If the model has BEC, if you use it or not, do not by any means connect anything else than the orange cable to the Sensor II port.

It might have worked by chance but the Sensor II port is regulated, you could easy burn the regulator there, then the whole Vbar could burn.

damn, will undo it before i fly again. now with the internal BEC unplugged and running a seperate BEC do i still plug the the red and brown into a servo port or leave disconnected? And should i worry about having damaged anything or would it be obvious if i did damage?

Thanks for the help

The adapter is only for YGE HV

Pull the RED cable only (you need the ground and signal connected)
If there is damage its done and done only on the Sensor II regulator.
Wont affect anything as long as rest works, but since no current have flown that way (probably) you might be good.

thank you again. just for speculation if the sensor regulator had burned would that show in the log as gov error, not hold proper HS or would it require bench testing to know

It might only show by you having no output power on that port now if you measure (should be 3.3v)
But you do not need it in this setup.

with the help of Mr.Mel's video I did a test on the LV version and e-mail from YGE
Quote:
only the orange wire from Slave cabel connect to the sensor port on the
vbar.
The other wires from the Slave cabel connect to any servo port on the vbar.
and tested gov on the bench and worked very well , check out this link on how I connected it :

YES THIS IS VERY TRUE, I blew 2 up and now have taken the darn YGE off. No one ever would answer question about it and I even PM'ed Mr Mel with no reply.
