Bought a 600se kit help deciding setup
I went and bought a 600se kit today. I need some opinions on setup ive looked at everyone else's setup and there seems to be so many options. I don't do any 3d flying right now and my other heli is a raptor 30 that I can whip around pretty well. So I'd say my flying is more sport but I'd like to dabble with some 3d. Can you give me your opinions on setup and why I should go this way.

When I was deciding my setup I found this thread to be very useful: https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=262939
You can see my setup in that thread, and I can tell you it works awesome for the type of flying you are wanting to do. The heli is light and floaty, but too light to handle a reasonable wind (I've flown in up to 15 mph and it handles that easily). I haven't tried other setups, but from the feel of mine I don't think I would want it to be any lighter. Maybe a tad heavier would be fine. I run 1780HS and fly smooth sport flying, 6:30 on the timer to about 60% discharged on the packs. I think that overall weight topic discussed in that thread is really relevant, as you don't want this heli to be too light. Likewise, make it too heavy and you'll have to spin too high a HS to make it perform nicely, then you will have mechanical issues. 10S or 12S, I don't think it makes any difference. I went 12S because I got the Mikado combo with the Pyro 450KV and the Jive 80HV, so 10S would have probably been too high current for that ESC. 12S the Jive 80 is fine for me. But if you're buying all new gear for the heli then it really doesn't matter - maybe base your decision on availability of your preferred motor in the right KV range, or your preference for a certain ESC. Also think about whether you're going to use the VBar Gov. I've heard it's really good but some ESC's work well with it and some don't. So that decision may steer you into an ESC which is suited to 10 or 12S. At the end of the day, as long as the combined motor/ pack weight fits in that range being discussed in the thread, you could flip a coin for 10 or 12S. It's an awesome heli, you will love it.
