Default HS-5065MG + HPP-21 PC

Can anyone tell me whether HPP-21 PC Programmer to put HS-5065MG servo in position 90 degrees so you do not have to add subtrim on Tx ? How this relates to the failsafe option and what is the procedure?
Thanks
Enyone??

Yes, you can adjust servo center position with HPP-21 programmer thus eliminating the need to subtrim on your radio. Not sure if it has any advantage over sub-trim but it is certainly possible to do.

You can also program fail safe position of the servo. Failsafe position is the position where the servo automatically returns when when it looses control sygnal. Without failsafe option or with the failsafe option turned off the servo will remain in the the same position where it was when the sygnal was lost. On my heli I turn the option on and program fail safe position to be the same as center position.

Thanks kaftan!
I'll try to tune the servo fail safe position with a small negative pitch as you turn on auto rotation. I will also include overload protection. Since the servos are already installed I'll try to tune swasplate taking subtrim and add level with the help of programmer and swash plate leveler!

My reasoning behind setting fail-safe to exactly 0 was that you never know in what heli position you may experience the loss of connection so I thought that neutral position is my best option. I also would rather have the bird falling like a rock into the ground then flying away into the sky.

Hello again!
Does anyone know when the 5065 is programmed, is it better in the settings for the Dead Band Width Setting put 1 or 5, or which would be the best value for the cyclic swashplate. The value of "1" is the tightest and "5" the loosest.
Thanks

Sorry for the late response, haven't been checking this thread for a while. I always set dead band to it's minimal value. Don't really see any purpose of loosening it unless you have servo jitter problems.

Kaftan, Thanks again for your reply! I've put on 2 so I have no servo jitter. I have not noticed any difference in response cyclik. When I progressed to hard 3D will put on 1, maybe then it will mean something !
Thanks again
