Cool Logo 400 RPM?

Hi, some idea about how many RPM are good for my logo 400 with scorpion 3026/1400 and 12T pinion?
Thanks.

With this pinion, may be 1800-1900 which is too low. Why don't you go for a higher tooth pinion ? Like 16 or 17T for example ?

If it is Mod .5 (200T) and you are on 6S battery than 16,17 and 18 are recommended by Mikado pinions with that motor. So, yes, you can do that.

Hmm, that's different story then. 12T is fine for that gear. Maybe 2300 for FFF and 2500 for 3D. Start from here and adjust to your liking,

Since you are MOD 0.7 a small pinion is ok. If you mod 0.5 then you want a larger pinion cause you would have more tooth contact. But the mod 0.7 is bullet proof but noisy.

I run a mod .7 gear, 14t pinion and have it governed at 2600. Flies super smooth.

What battery are you using, how hard do you fly and how much flight time do you get @ 2800rpm?

Was using 3000Mah 6S, bit heavy thou, but was getting 4'.15", throwing her around.
This was with a Scorpion 1400Kv, changed to Hacker 1600 but had just 2 flights before selling the heli.

I'm still building my 400SE as a backburner project. I have a load of 6s 2600mAh packs from my Logo 600. Actually I bought this 400SE because I had a load of spare stuff to put in it:

Mini Vbar
Sab 470 mains
3 x BLS153
BLS251
Jive 100LV

I have 3 motors to choose from.

Scorpion 3226-900
Pyro 600-09
Strecker 378.15H

I've fitted the Strecker first as it's the lightest of the 3 at 215g and is 1150KV and good for 18000W continuous.

I actually don't like my helis to be too light any more. I used to strive to make them as light as possible but as my flying skills progressed I started to find it more of hindrance, especially in piro loops.

I had about 2600rpm in mind but I might as well try 2800rpm too. I've also fitted the mod .7 main gear and a counter bearing support, so I shouldn't need to worry about stripping any gears.

Finally build complete and maidened it yesterday. After a quick hover I landed to adjust the blade tracking. Then used the rest of the pack testing the stability and tail. On the 2nd pack I went into a full 3D schedule. Flies awesome as expected. I went with the Strecker motor and a 17T pinion. Headspeed is a little high so I will order a 16T pinion. In the photos below you will also see the CF tail box and a Quick UK tail hub. I needed to add some more weight at the back to get the CG right and it looks bling.

Does the counter bearing make the mod 5 gearing stronger?

I fitted mod .7 gearing during the build. The counter bearing is more for stopping the battery hitting the pinion than supporting the motor shaft. But the theoretical answer to your question is yes. It should add stability to the motor, preventing the pinion from backing away from the main gear.
