Hey Mikado Ralph "RB-Heli" , we need a stronger ma
Well I personally think the Mikado main gear for both the Logo 10 and the logo 14 needs to be beefed up. Many manufacturers are using new developed delrins and getting better life out of their gears to adjust with the new more powerfull lipos and motors on the market today. I go through several gears and yes, my meshing is down to a perfect art. Running hot setups on helis is harder on the entire train I understand this, however I feel the gear on the Logos is due for an upgrade. More glass pack or a redesigned delrin material,,,, I dunno. Anyhooo a small request for Mr. Ralph B of Mikado

Another ting that would be cool is some helical gears for the Logos.
Unfortunately it would also mean that a new series of pinion gears would be needed so I guess the production cost is way to high for that to ever happen

Actually, with the uber-torque setups many are running these days, the gear meshing becomes motr critical What I've found is that you need to have the mesh fairly tight. Not so tight that it binds, but tight enough that you can't rock the pinion back and forth at all.

Gary I swear I have spent hours doing mesh, I tried every tightness there is in regards to this. Even still for example on a NEU 1921-1Y with 10 tooth I can not get a main gear to last more than 15 fligghts before the tips are sharp as tacs. I have tried it where the mesh is as you mention, tight no binding and no rocking. It seems anything under 11 tooth pinion is hard as heck on gears. Any motor combo where it has been 12 tooth and up no problem at all on how long it can last, nearly forever. This Z50 800 Hacker coming out that may be a winner for the L14, what will be the pinion you figure to give a decent HS with governor room? Any ideas on that one..? Thx

hey , whay dont you put the logo 14 .07 gear in there , and for the tail get the logo 20 tail gear , thats what Ralf and Andy has on there logo 10

That is the gear I have and am using since the beginning, the 0.7 mod gear at 138 tooth. Also in regards to the tail, I have been using the Logo 20 tail pulley as well and a second main gear on bottom.

Whats the benefit of running a 138T to power the tail?
Do you get other ratio or? |

The only real benifit to the 138 on bottom and L20 tail pulley is the durability and the ease of mesh etc. The ratio is the same Mel, but I have noticed the L20 pulley never wears really so it is a worthwhile thing to do, plus the thicker 138 gear doesen't have much as a wobble to it as the 200. First of all, the 138T gear really has 140T. They didn't want to change all the documentation, etc.
Anyway, the 140T gear has a larger pitch, module 0.7 vs. module 0.5, for the 200T Logo 10 gear. It can handle more torque than the 200T version. The gears are nearly the same exact diameter. In order to use this gear, you also need to use the matching mod. 0.7 tail drive gear, which is part number 3001. Same ratio, just different pitch. -- Gary |

Yes sorry 140tooth, but none the less with a 10 tooth pinion it is hard as heck to make em last.

I actually would like to see some "Helical" main gears and pinions available, I think that really may make things better for wear, tear and noise as well. Thoughts??? Ralph, anyone? Lorents mentioned this above, I as well think it would be a good idea! :mrgreen:

Hello all,
Thanks for all your feedback.At Mikado we are fully aware that power requirements have gone way up in the past few months. There are peaks of almost 4000 watts. We recognize the limits of existing helis for those of you who go crazy with them. Bear with us and wait for 2007. Unlike other companies, we do not do public testing of our products under development. We try to show our new stuff at the International Toy Fair in Nuermberg each February. We do take in all your comments, and as you know we have quite hard-flying pilots like Andy Rummer and Daniel Jetschin who constantly do tests for us. Ralf |

Well all I can say is glass embeded gears, or helical gears and pinions sound like an improvement imho. Make sure to keep beting up helis Danny, that way we'll get parts that are beyond good wear and tear for the normal public pilots! :glasses2:
