Question on battery install-- are you sure about having the battery stop with the plastic "tabs" on the lipo? I'm able to give them a little pinch and they slide right in so the battery is "flush" to the main plastic header piece-- seems to enable a nice tight grip.

This is exactly what I do and it's what the manual indicates. Just pinch the tabs and they will lock in nicely. No need to remove the tabs. They're there for a reason

When you set up your 9303 do you use the F.Mode switch to switch Dual Rates as well as flight modes or do you keep the Dual Rates on the corresponding switches? I bound all of my D/R to the F.mode switch once for 3D planes but I cant remember how to do it and the manual does not explain it very well. Can you help?

I setup normal and idle 1 with no dual rates but 30% expo.
I set idle 2 with 0 expo.
I do not use dual rates I just set the travel adjust per the manual and leave it at that.

I went through your video again and it answered my question. Duh! I kept forgetting to set the norm=pos-0, st-1=pos-1, st-2=pos-2 when in the D/R expo screen.

Yep! I cannot count how many people with 9303's "think" they have expo on when because they did not setup the switch settings they have none

Today I picked up my Blade MCPX.

It is slightly larger than the Blade MSR but significantly smaller than the 120 SR

Set up and Binding was straighforward and it seems to be as robust as the Blade MSR

It comes with two sets of rotor blade.. The manual states one set is for high performance Indoor aerobatics and the other is for fast outdoor flight

The fast outdoor flight Blades have a forward facing prong about 1/3 out from the central hub.

I am still fine tuning the pitch curves to my personal preference but can highly recommend it as a next step if you have mastered the MSR or the 120 SR..

It is more stable and easier to fly than a 450 size helicopter.. which would be the next step after the MCPX

It was very windy today so I didn't fly it outside but I will try loops and rolls in the next day or so..

helicopter enters Vortex Ring State.

This last aspect of the MCPX was a surprise.. I have rarely experienced Vortex Ring State with my MSR or 120 SR, but the MCPX will enter it very easily..

In simple terms Vortex Ring state occurs when the helicopter enters the downwash of air produced by its own rotor blades.. Here is the Wiki explanation

Normally if you apply more power and collective pitch the helicopter would climb, but when descending in the Vortex Ring, adding power only INCREASES the rate of descent... due to the extra downwash being produced.

The Blade MCPX makes it very easy to demonstrate this phenomenon..

Hi guys,
Impossible to fly inverted with the DX4e. Binded right as described in Bob video. Once inverted, impossible to hover, maybe a negative pitch or AC problem in DX4e. Crashed each times.
Note the heli flies inverted well with my DX7.
Any idea ?

are you getting 0 degrees at centre stick?
are you getting the same amount of pitch down and up?

fold the blades back on themselves so they are parallel, go to full positive, measure the gap then do the same on negative. make sure there is no deflection at centre stick (both blades parallel.

if that is all ok then I'd say there is a screwy mix on the DX4e...

You are right, there is a bad mix in the DX4e.
I will use my DX7 with the Blade mCPx and DX4e with an airplane or simulator...

what could it be if i have a slight vibration on the heli?
also, do i need to grease the feathering shaft?

As for grease. No you do not need to grease or oil anything on this heli.

I have a brand new MCPX. Since I am not an expert, I of course crashed it a pair of times. However, no big deal. But when I hold it in my hands and look to the blades when increasing pitch and throttle, I see a visible tracking at mid throttle and end throtle. the blades are new, the main axe and the blade axe are OK... when hovering, the helis seems reasonnably stable with no shakes.
Is this a false issue or do I miss a point?

Dont worry about tracking as it isnt perfect. However you may want to make sure the spindle is not bent.
