Well it's October now so is there any new info on when either ones of these will be available? Or where to get them?

Well I was hoping the new Black model was going to use the new gyros that are impervious to vibes. It seems that will not be the case

Charlie the gyro sensors will be vibe resistant, but the accelerometers cannot be with existing technology.

I've heard there will be good news regarding these units very very soon.

I'm also waiting for the Black One.
Flying the Blue One right now in the Beam but soon the Diabolo will land.
And its definitly getting a self level option.
So either Red or Black is on the shopping list.

OT : Anyone with Blue experience who is flying Red now and care to share what got better... ?

It’s going to be winter in Canada any day now so we probably won’t see much development until next spring. Maybe next summer for the GPS.

.

First retail prices show that the 720 "BE" costs 50 EUR more than regular 720 but not on stock of course

That's good to know. Did you read this somewhere?

I've seen these new vibe resistant mems gyros on youtube and they dont see vibes at all. I cant imagine how perfectly stable a FBL can make a heli when it doesnt have to deal with all the false signals being sent from the gyros.

Not that there are vibration issues with the existing SK-720's gyros. These things work on Gassers just fine. (don't bother trying to use self-leveling though!)

All the vibration talk relates to the accelerometers, which have nothing to do with standard FBL operation. They're used for flight logs, self-leveling and soon the SK-GPS attachment.

As for making accelerometers more vibration resistant, the issue is an accelerometer measures accelerations, and guess what vibrations are? All you can do is make accelerometers more accurate which will allow you to write better software to filter vibrations out of the feed. I'm more hoping the black SK-720 has accelerometers that drift less with temperature shifts. Maybe they should add a pair of accelerometers just for redundancy purposes should one continually drift so bad in flight. Even if both drift, the drift should be different enough while providing some duplicate movement, so you could perhaps cancel the drifting out.

Yes, it's been discussed to death on here over the past few months. The newer mems gyros are more resistant but the 720 uses the accelerometers for the SL - that's where the senstivity lies.

I use a 720 on my nitro - hard mounted. SL doesn't work but the heli flies very well and tracks perfectly. This is much better than when it had a soft mounted SK720. With the soft mount the vibes were filtered and even the SL worked; but the heli didn't feel crisp at all. I'll be mounting a 540 on the nitro in the near future, so will post how it compares.
