I use a few different setups...
BEC's, VR's, LiFo packs.. all work well..
You need determine what exactly you want from your helicopter and plan the power distribution system accordingly.

You will hear Pro's and Con's to any setup

You know I think you answered my question. The main thing I want from it is simplicity and reliability. Which usualy goes hand in hand. I might just stick with the Life pack.
Thanks for your reply nightflyr

For me the simple way was using a LIFE 6.6v pack without BEC, I have DS610 and DS650 servos and it works great.
No need for additional devices/wires in my opinion.

Elad.

That's my thoughts exactly. The Spektrum can take it and as far as I know my servos can. If not they have been running on 6 volts the last year with no issues so an extra .2 to .5 volts should not make a difference. I got 2 flights with the Life pack and no issues. It is for an AP rig. Attached is my first picture I took yesterday. Not much room I had my back against the wall with power cables above. I had to unplug the tilt servo on the gimbal it kept drifted so that is another issue to solve.
