Default T-Rex 500 "Flight Times" DATA

Here are some flight tests done with different battery configurations for the 500. Can give you a realistic idea of what to expect. Seems the 4s - 5s is the way to go. Almost does not make sense to buy the EVO 2500 packs (as most have mentioned want to use) if you don't already have them. Would be better to go 4s as that seems to be the best bang for the buck. Of course if you already have the 3s packs, you are good to go for 4.5 min of hard core 3d with out spending any additional money. Sounds cool.

500L brushless motor with different test configurations:

4S 3200mAh battery:
Violent 3D - flying time of about 5.5 minutes
General 3D/F3C - flying time of about 8 minutes

5S 3200mAh battery:
Violent 3D - flying time of about 5.5 - 6 minutes
General 3D/F3C - flying time of about 9 minutes

6S 2100-2200mAh battery:
Violent 3D - flying time of about 4.5 minutes
General 3D/F3C - flying time of about 8 minutes

6S 2500mAh battery:
Violent 3-D - flying time of about 5 minutes
General 3D/F3C - flying time of about 8.5 - 9 minutes

Personally I think for beginners to sport fliers 4S will be fine. There is a "HUGE" difference between that "Violent 3D" on 4S and 6S, its like comparing 6S to 10S, it is not realistic to do so. From every video I have seen and every comment from those that flew it, the consitent answer to performace was 6S. All imho... cheers

Yep that is what WILL sell the 500. Being able to use your 450 packs. It is the perfect "upgrade"

Having gone 4s on my TRex 450s, I had 2 pairs of 3s packs just sitting gathering dust. I've started using 6s (2 3s packs in series) on my Lepton for kicks. It totally livened up the Lepton and now I can't see flying that 500 sized machine on anything other than 6s. I had been flying it 4s mostly but it always seemed underpowered for 3D flight.

The 500 will be a nice addition to my fleet. If it shares the same lineage as the 450 and 600, the 500 will be a great 3D machine. The lepton is too docile right now.
