I already ordered it. I also ordered bk servos for it as well. I hope they fit. I will be sad if they don't.

That makes me feel a lot better about this heli! An extra $46 is definitely worth the cost of the upgrades they did, especially considering that you're getting a GPro instead of the 3GX.

Yeah I will let you guys know. My concern is also will the tail servo motor clear the mounts. It honestly kills me that one side of the frame isn't cut out for a full size servo. That is truly my biggest complaint. Wth align?

Also it sucks they aren't offering an extended boom option at this time. Personally I like tsize it comes at. But I know many would prefer the longer heli. It only makes sense because then they can sell you another boom, push rod, torque tube, and blades they would offer some ~475mm.

Bad news. BK servos are out. I suppose if you were up for shimming it out, they would fit. Maybe align will make different bearing blocks like the 450L. Needs at least 3mm additional for clearance.

That's too bad, Reich. It's a shame Align didn't put any effort into upgrading the 500L for today's electronics and market trend.

Its not the worst. The align cyclic servos are respectable. The tail servo is where I really want a boost. I will be fitting the BK mini servo to the tail. Some dremel work required. I can post pics when I have that installed. I think for the price this heli is gonna be great. They just missed the mark in a few areas.
1. No full size tail servo 2. No MKS or BK HV servo options at this time 3. I don't love how far the battery tray sticks out, but it is livable. 4. No stretch kit (so far, or probably ever), others hate this but I like the size how it is. All of these are livable. I just would've liked solutions to them. Also the tail bushings suck. Where the plastic attaches to the tail grip, it sucks. But it sucked on the pro as well so no surprise there. It is solvable I just wish that piece had a bearing. But again, for the price this thing is sick, considering it comes with GPro, which is frankly a pretty damn nice FBL system. |

There was a very good reason for align to stretch the 500. It is a bit on the heavy side and the parts are oversized for its blade size. The 500l will keep on being a heavy bird.

I purchased one, started to build it, and the kit has the incorrect linkage sets, the motor and pinion are to close, it so tight that you cannot turn it by hand, you cannot set the mesh, major problems on the kit. Wait before order as Align will need to send new Frames, Links etc.
