Default Always wanted a Raptor 90 SE...

But why does this forum only have 170 threads in it??? (Now 171...)
It's a classic heli and everytime I mention it outside this forum I get stories about not wasting my money, it's old school tech, etc.
I want a rock solid, "low maintenance" (good design) heli and the SE comes with all the bling. I don;;t think there is a more solid helicopter out there. Are there higher tech, higher maintenance, lighter helis out there? Sure.
Not sure why more folks aren't flying these birds. Not sure why there is no Finless build videos (other than the electric Raptor)... Is is because it's time has past or old news?
I hope not.

Because people are afraid of mechanical mixing i dont know but i love my Raptor 90SE one of the helis i fly the most.
Watch Tom Erick Rolfson videos on vimeo and youtube and you (they) will see its not outdated.

The Raptor is a solid machine and it feels fantastic in the air.

And "people" complain about the weight and that aluminum brace on the frames. That's one of the coolest bling things I ever seen! No heli has that! Everyone is all about two slabs of carbon fiber...

I am not interested in the 90 3D because of the missing bling.

I am not in competitiion. I want a rock solid heli!

And I know some people will say "who cares what other people think". I agree 100%! I am trying to wake people up who may be snoozing on the opportunity of such a sweet machine. That's why I am suprised there is so little discussion on these boards about the big Raptors.

Trex came and tok all the market. But i feel that the raptor are far better quality.
And it looks so much more strong and solid built than my trex700E.

And it also looks bigger in the air than a trex 700

Price on parts for the raptor is not that high either but when you think over it parts for align helis are almost available in every rc store.

I am looking to get another SE maybe a 3D but havent decided yet.

When it comes to the discussion here on helifreak there arent to many issues with a raptor 90 what is one of the reasons why there is as few post as it is.
But if you have a problem and post a question. People are e very fast to answer and help.
And thanx for that Helifreak

Go get your self a 90 SE you will not be disappointed

I was wondering the same thing about the 90...very few posts when compared to the trex's.

Of course there are many negative posts about those.

Can't wait till the summer gets here. It'll be that long before I can afford to get the rest of the electronics.

Hey Sgt. Gunner: And thank you for your service . By all means, if you want a time tested, tough, easy to build, dependable, fun as hell to fly Heli, then get a Raptor 90 3D or SE. I have one of each and just think they are awesome. They will outfly most normal pilots, and do what you want them to do, as is proof by this past years 3D Masters champion Erik Rolfson. Allan Szabo used to fly them before he worked for Align as well. Bet he still does when no one is looking . Ever see Colin Bell or Stefan Simmons fly a Raptor? They can bring it as well. Check this out:
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sdCKbfULidc[/ame]

All 90 class heli's can do the "smack down" just depends on the setup, and more importantly, the pilot. You don't see as many posts about them here, or on other sites because, quite frankly, everything you can say about a Raptor, has already been said 100 times over. So go ahead and take the plunge, and be confident in the fact that the Raptor 90 3D or SE is a great heli to own and fly. Best of luck to you, and to all my other Raptor brothers .

You couldnt be more correct . I just got a 903d with all the quick uk upgrades 91 sz os new new new man I love it I am so used to my smaller raptors I have a ve2 raptor hiper 401 a titan same hiper 401 I love them easy to repair parts everywhere take abuse and are capable of anything that I ever might do. I just started with helis 5 months ago and can fly around any angle no prob and loops and rolls and just having a blast. made a trade with a guy on rr for the raptor 90 what a beast it is i think one of the best desighns you can pay for a lot of names but I dont think you can go wrong with a raptor they are my favorite.

Just sold my Rap 90 to Sean who posted above here. Kind of sad about it, but needed cash for another Raptor 90 electric coversion. I would buy another one in a heart beat. I think the Raptor 90 canopy is one of the coolest looking ones around. Its just too bad not many companys offer cool paint jobs for them. Just go get one and enjoy the crap out of it. Any heli is really only as good as the person flying it, and I'm sure a lot of the other brand fanboys can't fly for

You dont see a lot of threads for the 90se because they dont have any problems, or need any upgrades. look at all of the threads on other helis. A lot of them are complaints, upgrades needed, or things that are wrong with the heli. There is simply no reason to post anything about the raptors because they are a rock solid, reliable, proven design.
