Default Full size tail servo on 500E Pro

Has anyone installed a full size servo on the 500 Pro ? Can you tell me how?, is there an aftermarket for the servo mount for full size ?

Thanks,

Vic...

I've been running an Align 650, and it's been a huge improvement. Align should be using the full size as stock equipment, IMHO.

You can mount it on the boom using a Trex 600 mount and 500 rings, or modify the frame the fit the servo. Putting it on the boom is quick and easy, I've since moved it to the frame for better balance.

Here's some details

I added a ds650 servo on my ESP last week. Huge difference!

With a mini, I was having tail problems if I loaded up the head. Severe kicks and in some cases blow outs. The full size took care if that. It also gave me more of a locked in, precise feeling than what I was getting with the mini.

I agree 100%, I have an Outrage 9188 on my ESP and it's a lot of difference on the feel and lock. Only reason i open this thread is because my friend has the PRO version and was looking to see what people did and if there was an aftermarket servo tray for it to fit the full size.

It's the best servo size to deal with the high forces in the T500 tail!
I have a turnigy 980(mks clone) since day one(500 flights ago) and always had a perfect, fast and precise tail.

I didn't think a full size servo would make a big difference and now i wish i did this first before anything else. Best upgrade for the tail i ever did. Hard to explain but to me its almost night and day. I'll try and do a video of hard pitch up's soon. Wish i had my old servo or i'd do a comparison.

I like what I'm hearing.. I'm gonna look into this for the 2 T500's...the 650 runs on 6V right? Right now, both T500's are running the BEC Pro on 5.1V because I currently fly the Futaba 9257 on the tails of both of them AND both HC500's. I'd have to recheck if the Hitec 5245's can run on 6v...

+ 1 to you guys running an align ds650 on your tail..Thats awsome. I have been thinking about it lately. As i have a JR3400G on now..works fine but a bit on the slow side. a ds650 would be crazy great !!!.....Edit: then again i have this 500e going into a scale fuse. doubt it will fit. Future 500 build its on..!
