Default 450 Rekit or Part Out

OK so my 450x that was my first real heli bit it hard yesterday. It is heavily modified and there is almost nothing left stock. I did a pitch pump and it just planted itself - no positive collective. I think maybe a linkage broke or something. Anyway that's really not the point.

I have been wanting a 6 or 700 and have been saving a bit for one. So my options are do I part out the 450, ds75i, vbar, bunch of lynx mods etc and throw some upgrades on my goblin and keep saving for the 600.

OR

Do I pick up an X3 that everyone raves about or maybe a Goblin 380 and swap the parts out.

The tough decisions in life....

Get an X3 to keep flying, nothing worse than saving for an expensive heli then crashing it and not being able to fly because you have to save for repairs.

Keep a 450 as a beater you can keep flying relatively cheaply, and save for a larger model too.

The Goblin 500 is just fine out of the box. If anything you could replace the main gear. But other then that in does not need anything.

Yea I was thinking main gear, and maybe a BD3sx. I am thinking a X3 is probably the way to go, I like having a 450 I can run to the park up the street with.

You guys with the X3, is it worth springing for the 6s set up or can I get away with the 3s electronics I have? I would also probably lose the spektrum servos and grab some KSTs.

I would definetly recommend 6s. You can run it on 3s but this heli likes to fly and fly hard. You will probably pull pretty crazy amps depending on the 3s motor.

The Hobbyking NTM 1700 kv motor is a really good cheap motor for great power and its like $18. It's on par with the Align 460mx 1800kv motor.
