Default Help choosing first FBL platform

I have a bunch of T-Rex's: 250, 450SA, 450 Sport, 500 GF, and 600N, and I'm interested in trying out a flybarless system. I don't think I'll touch the 250 for now since it's so small and is hard enough to pack the existing electronics into. The 450 Sport has a very nice all metal head that I'd prefer to keep using.

The 450SA is my oldest machine, and although it's all metal, it's V1 stuff and a little worn. The 500 and 600 have a mix of plastic/metal parts. These are my top picks since I wouldn't be throwing out a lot of expensive parts.

I'll probably be using a lower-mid end system (SK360). What size heli would be most satisfying to go FBL with, shows the most improvement, etc.? I'm thinking 450 or 500, but if anyone has an opinion, tell me!

Thanks

Default FBL

I would go FBL without any Stabilization system on it. It works! Check out the posts below on the original page. Several of us have tried it. But, I would do it with the 600 since it is naturally more stable than the 500. It seems a lot of people have been very happy with the Outrage FBL head. I have an RJX head on my 700e and it works and looks great. But, I did some modifications on it. I am not using a STAB system though. Flying without the STAB system is a different experience though. I love it. Do some reading about it here or on Runryder and see what you think.

Is it risky to do it without a Stabilization system?

mine fbl works great on my 450 v2. rather than hacking up your v1's head, you can try the gaui head. its a direct drop in and a I highly recommend it. plus if you don''t want to stay with flybarless, switch heads and sell the gaui.
