Default case ??

im making a case for my charger using my dewalt tool box,, ive cut out all the inner moldings so its an empty shell , got a pretty decent fan to install on the side for cooling , but im trying to figure out what is the best method for securing the power supply and charger to the case?

I encased my PSU (TDK Lamda Industrial PSU) in a wooden frame. I then used wood screws to screw the enclosure to the bottom of my Stanley FatMax case using washers on the head of the screws so they won't easily be ripped out of the plastic. The PSU itself is velcroed (Industrial velcro) to the wooden enclosure so it is still removable

I got the power supply from progressive rc, there are threaded holes through out the power supply , some have screws in them while others look like this could be mounting screw threads? and input? there like m3 size , so I dunno how good it would mount anything lol

M3 would be pretty strong, especially 4 of them. Button head cap screws will have larger diameter heads, to cover more area. Put washers under the heads.

Stack then, like M3 then M4 under that, if you want to further spread things out further, to avoid pulling through the plastic case. Or use fender washers.

Here is what I did with an old DeWalt saws-all case,

I use 3M Dual Lock to secure the power supplies and charger to the case itself.

The Dual Lock that I've used has an adhesive that's *very* strong. I wouldn't be worried about it coming off the case, myself.

Very nice idea, NCcraig, I like it! Especially as it would let you move things around a bit if needed. Including mounting parallel boards, even just temporarily during use.

Though I think I will still try to screw my PS down. If I used enough Dual Lock on it to make me comfortable that it will never try and come loose, it might become tremendously difficult to separate the Dual Lock later if I had to remove the PS

A sawzall case is a good idea, lots of area to play with.

It's not Velcro. It is more like rows of plastic hooks,

I didn't use any adhesives. I just used some 220 grit sandpaper to roughened up the area where I was going to attach the Dual Lock, cleaned the area with some alcohol and stuck it to the case. It has an extremely sticky backing and hasn't come loose yet.

The black matting you see on my case is just cabinet shelf liner attached with spray adhesive. Covers up the extra dividers I removed from the case rather well.
